Although the sr20 swap is really common, I don't see how that's a bad thing. It's a JDM engine, which makes parts hard to find, but because there are so many people doing this swap, it's worth it for some retailers to keep replacement stuff on hand. Plus it's something that you can do yourself with all the "how-to" guides on the net.

In canada you can import any car without modification, as long as it is 15 years old. Which means there are now importers selling r32's for like 12k CAD =). I'm thinking I'll probably get an r33 when they are available!

I'm friends with the owner of a pearl white, R32 GT-R. Also a few guys with SR20DET's under 240SX hoods. My next project car is going to be an SR20 powered 240 (or if I can afford it, which I can't, a mkIV Supra). Something about having enough power to be sideways at almost any speed, just makes me happy.[/quote]

i had a friend here in utah that had a r32 put down almost 700rwhp but ran into trany problems and lost to a n\a 96 ss comaro but you know tranny problems. but if you wan budget sideways old celicas and celica supras are perfect for the job. a friend and i had a old 86 celica we got for 140 bucks and we piched that thing sideways constantly we also took it offroading and ralling until the day we sold it for 800 bucks to finance his prelude. and just a month ago we bought a celica supra like a 82 or something for 400 and we drifted that too. but alas two weeks after we got it we let a friend from work drive it and he started doing doughnuts and was on the tenth one when the oil pressure droped and he fried some rings. the car was donated to the lung or keydney assocaiton.

good times

It's not just about sideways. I like the look of the 240sx's.

Short, wide, squatty. They just look ridiculously mean, and when they have a smooth and bulletproof plant under the hood, that makes it even better.

Plus, I don't have the pockets to get an MKIV Supra, so I'll stick with this, lol.

My favorite's the early fixed-headlight 240 (before the facelift to make it more 'aggresive'). I think the styling was woefully underrated. If it had come out of Germany they'd have called it restrained and elegant, but being from Japan they called it bland. Yet there'd be nobody who'd defend BMW's current styling if it came from Japan - unlike some of these Euro-lust idiot writers who are like the crowd of morons at the end of The Emperor's New Clothes. I hate the double standard that favors the currently underengineered, overrated and unreliable Eurotrash from Germany. They had no problem shitting on the Italians when they used to sell those here (ther regular ones) and at least Italian cars have personality.

Maybe I need to write my own car magazine commentary.

I had a neighbor once that loved to work on autos, most notably his Nova. There was always cars up on blocks in his yard that never seemed to get finished. He also had an S-10 he was modding I guess. This guy was a real gem. He had a roomate named Jesse James who was doing some ahem 'sales' out of the place. Cops came one day looking for this Jesse. I guess he had some warrants out on him. Soon after that the house was condemned for alleged mercury poisoning.

Originality is the key- and it rocks, until everyone does it, then you dump the car BECAUSE everyone has one- which is why we are all legacy nuts- NOT EVERYONE HAS ONE-

MOOving on- I would love to do a lexus sc300 with the supra single turbo swap or even the is300- ( hell go with the 4 door sleeper)

original=cool because no one else has one.

Sleeper (also)=cool- ( hense my 93 SS)
Cops tend to not pull over 4 door family sedans- unless they look riced out,

ricer in my rear view mirror= priceless

Have a nice day! :D
