Who said the power being low was silly? My "something stupid" comment was in regards to the stupid amount of power they make at low RPM.

If it's not stock, it would. Stock, it would be about even up through the 1/8th mile.
And we won't even talk about the Grand Cherokee. That would flat out cream a stock Turbo Legacy, or even a slightly modded one. ESPICALLY the 98 5.9L. You like torque, that ZJ makes 345lb-ft of it at 3000 RPM's. Stock, they hit around 14.5. Was the fastest mass produced SUV in the world until BMW released the X5 4.6IS and Infiniti released the Q45.
