I remember reading (maybe on this BBS) that the WRC cars don't even use the pitching stopper.

Hmm, OK cool. I guess I'll forget about the pitch stop then. The less I have to spend the better.

I would concur; I lost the pitching stopper off my 92 beater bf about a year ago during a tranny swap, and noticed no change in performance or any increase in transmission movement. According to the factory repair manual the pitching stopper lessens the stress put on the connecting bolts between the engine and the tranny, and decreases the possibility of play introduced to the clutch from differential tranny/engine movement… That all sounds like a load of horseshit to me, but I am no engineer.
Cheers!

Well, I ordered STI Group N engine mounts and tranny mount last night. I got a great price from Myles at Race Comp Engineering. $165 to my door for 'em all!
Still haven't figured out my clutch-n-flywheel situation yet. I don't have the money to go with a new light weight FW and street clutch like Phil. I really need a new clutch though...

Did you drop my name to Myles? That guy is the MAN! You didn't meet him I don't think, but he's an instructor at a local road course

. He's one of the 2 people I take suspension, tire, and alignment advice from.
$165 is a pretty good price.
Be warned about the Group N mounts.... They are going to be awesome, just like my car

Yep, he's been very good to deal with too. His prices are rocking, well below the competition.

Is he your friend that I met at the Rockville meet the one time that was passing out flyers?

Damn straight!

Long as you told him Dr. Phil sent you, all is good
The guy you met was John. I have yet to talk to him or see him again. Don't know what happened.
Now who's catching up to who's mods?

Haha, true! We'd have a regular OCC vs West Coast Choppers build-off. But I think both of our cars would come out the same....
