Too bad we couldn't rework DOHC heads to run rotary valves actuated by stepper motors. Just have to figure out a way to run the water pump. If I had the money ... That and a diesel.

I don't remember morgie with a head bolt problem like that. IIRC he had EJ205 head bolts that were too long. I've seen a bunch of EJ head gaskets next to each other and they all looked like the same pattern. I've read up on several EJ22T block swaps into RS's, both DOHC and SOHC and they all said it's easy, bolt up. Some of the coolant passages are a bit different but I think you could cut out the head gasket for enough flow. Your stock head gasket covers more than half of the coolant passage.

I am going to stick with SOHC just to piss off the DOHC is better people. :lol:

I'm curious as to why this happens. An educated (LOL!) guess of mine would be that at the speed of sound there is a sound-pressure wave produced that tends to disrupt the flow of air. But what do I know?

I think it may have to do with the same reason World War 2 fighters approaching the speed of sound would lose control.
