Yes. . . I start work around 4:00pm. Autocross starts around (well, first cars on the course) 9:00am for the morning session, which I always have to run because of my work schedule. :)

Well shit again. . . I'm actually running in the PM session because of my car classification.

Looks like I'll be telling Sean and Keith I'll be a tad late to work next Sunday afternoon.

Here's a link to the WWSCC site with a lot of great information. Beyond that, come on up and you can see and hear what it's all about. ;)

i've only been to one before, but never ran, i'm just going to go up and watch. i'll get into it later when i get a little more skill

Nothing like running to build on that skill. ;)

Seriously, though. . . . just observe what's going on and get a feel for it. After a while, things start to become familiar and you can concentrate more on driving when you DO participate. :)

Autocross is divided into classes, so people can be competitive, unfortunately the legacy has a 2.2 turbo, and the cutoff for a class it would be competitive in is 2.0L, so we get hosed, running against corvettes and stuff. Your course times are compared against others in your class. The average course usually takes between 45 seconds and 75 seconds. Every "gate" that you miss adds 10 seconds onto your time, and every cone you hit penalizes you an additional 2 seconds. There are usually 3 cars on course at a time, they time them so when the 2nd car hits a certain point on the course, they que the next one to go. It's a ton of fun, though it doesn't look like i'll be able to afford it this time around

Autocross in western Washington is typically held either in Everett (at Boeing Field) or in Bremerton (at the old airport).

Pacific Raceways has a road course, but as far as i know, no autocross lot. Autocross is a good alternative to tracking a car, if there's even the slight possibility that something my break or over heat. Track is long and constant, making you likely to overheat your engine, brake rotors, or boil fluid, all bad news
