That's because it really is running on 2 cylinders. The EJ20 using the coil on plug ignition has a four channel ignitor and no wasted spark. Your car only has a 2 channel ignitor. So, when you plug in the Ej20 ECU, two of the four pin outs are working, but there just aren't any wires in place for the other two cylinders. There are a couple of simple ways you could fool the ECU and get the spark to the other 2 cylinders if you wanted to...ej22t wrote:I just plug everything as like the EJ22T set up, I do have the ecu put the wiring is different, so it won't work. I did try to plug the ECU in the current plug, the car could start but looks like running 2 cylinder.

Weird thing is that I've added the other wires and I'm still only running on two cylinders, I've narrowed it down to my fuel injectors, I had them cleaned, but nada, they are just not firing, the ecu is giving the same voltage to each and they are getting the signal, but nothing. I'm giving the car to a buddy this weekend who has done this, so that maybe I'll get some sleep in the near future.

There's two ways to do it.
#1, Get an SVX 6 channel ignitor and use 4 of the channels
#2 Get 2 Legacy 2 channel ignitors and wire them parallel.
Then you need to have wires running from the ECU pinouts to the ignitor. And wires from the ignitor to the coils on the plugs.

Thanks Matt for your reply.
Have you did those mod? Does it work?
I do have 3 Legacy turbo ignoitors so I will try to go to the mod #2 but do you have any diargarm of how to make the connection and does the wire that could directly go from the EJ20G ECU?
Are there any wiring change or added on such as fuel injector signal or just the ignition only?
Sorry for those questions but it do really help.
Thanks Matt.

I've got a wiring diagram at home and will try to remember to look at it for you. I did it with the SVX ignitor because I was using a '94 WRX wiring harness. Using your stock Legacy turbo harness, you will need to add some wires...
