I agree with Scott, let them check out your car and then when you come back say howdy. Otherwise just pull up and introduce yourself, say you noticed a few subies and thought you'd check it out. If they're cool you'll be in, if they aren't cool, you'll know right away.
Edit : The ebrake and mullet throwing sounds pretty cool too though.

Yeah, just go up and talk to them. Usually they're pretty cool - and they're used to newcomers (that's the whole point to meet and hang out!)
