 I`ve used the Borla headers for both NA and now a turbo application (includes a custom up & down pipe fitted on a Garrett GT28R) with no negative issues. You`ll probably lean out your mixture some with headers but the computer should adjust for this condition. It depends on what you`re looking for: more mid and upper range or a stock bottom/mid range response. With my stall convertor (which works super with 3:90`s) I have no problems with launching the car or the balance of the RPM range until about 6k RPM; power falls off a little then. That`s what a Unichip controlled alcohol and nitrous setup is for (I have the alcohol but not the nitrous yet-next year.) Again, speed costs money--how fast you wanna`go?? Input from other header users would be appreciated--Thanks--Rod

anyone tried header wrap on a stock header to try and keep some of the heat energy? header wrap plays hell with some aftermarket tubular type headers, they cant handle the heat and crack by the welds, or at least my old volvo B20 one did. but a stock header might be a little stronger maybe. I am not totally familiar with hi power/boost turbo setups, but it seems like you would want as little exhaust path and volume to the turbo as possible, while keeping decent flow. Is there any benefit to a bigger volume pre turbo other than better flow? or would that just be a way to adjust where a given turbo would start spooling.
and does anyone know of some before and after dyno charts of headers?
why would it be a benefit to raise the rpm the turbo is spooling at, if the turbo itself is the main restriction anyway, as in the case of a vf11 or whatever? I dont see how that is going to gain any power, it would just move the powerband up.

THAWA wrote:hmm, I thought I noted what headers they were. Ah well, they're the stock cast iron headers that come on some JDM Legacys and Imprezas. See this thread: http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/vie ... hp?t=15639

I think the consenus we came to was that they were only on first gen JDM legacys(manuals?), the first wrx/sti version, and select version two sti.

What I mean by raising where the turbo spools is in the rpm range. So later.
Anyone know the new link or have pictures of the headers being discussed?

I would also like to find that thread, I have a set of ej20g headers and now I am wondering if they flow better than the stock 22t ones.
