This is something I didn't know and probably good to point out. My N/A->turbo setup uses the MAF in blow through operation, so the IAC input from the pre-TB intake is post turbo. This makes me not need the valve in the IAC. Anyone that's doing this swap and using the N/A IAC/Manifold should probably route the IAC post turbo to avoid potential issues with pressure bleedback.

There is a fuel difference, with the old engine I saw a typical 22-23mpg in the city and upwards of 26 on the highway.
with this setup I see 19-20mpg in the city, and about 25 on the highway.
This is because the turbo block yileds less compression. You'll make less power with this setup too. Of course, when you get around to strapping that turbo on, you'll be able to run more boost.
good writup

That is all. Good write up of your hiccups!
yes, this is a must. I turned mine over for three ten second bursts, but with the plugs in (for some reason I was afraid of dirt/grime falling into the cylinders) so the engine was under pressure, and it wasn't a great idea considering the lack of oil.
if I do this again, I'll do it with the plugs out, so that the engine can turn over longer and get better lubrication.
what do plugs matter? I have read most peoplejust unhook the coilpack

pulling the plugs puts less stress on the rod bearings and piston pins because there's no compression. Just the force of unignighted compession is enough to dammage a bearing that's totaly dry.
