I'm trying to fix my code 35 by cutting the wire and connecting a resistor in between the wire ends. (100% sure I cut the right wire - and I used a 100 ohm 10 Watt resistor)

Didn't work though, did I do it wrong? Should I connect the resistor to the ECU and to something else in the other end?

Have you tried resetting the ECU?

Yes, but only with the "fuse14"-method.

I can't find the green connectors, only the black ones. I'll try again today, they seem to be very well hidden...

Edit: Ok, resetting the ECU was no problem. I did the battery method this time and connected black to black under the steering column afterwards. Ignition ON and the Check Engine light is blinking at a steady rate (half a second between blinks).

So there's no error code. But after driving for a while, stopping and shutting the car down - the error code is back when I start the car again. Typical problem with canister purge solenoid valve/code 35.

So I must have screwed up when putting the resistor in place. Have I connected it wrong?

This part I don't understand:

Wire a 100-ohm 2-watt resistor between the ECU's purge control pin and an ignition-switched +12v source.

So the wire should go from the ECU to the resistor - and then to an ignition-switched +12v source?

I'm not getting it. Can somebody please explain in more detail? (english is not my native language, but you probably guessed that already).

Should I connect the wire to another unit (the car stereo?) wich is connected to the ignition?

Edit: Never mind, sorted. This trick worked fine! :D
