Seriously dumped+stock rims or steelies= dumb. here's a pic to show you what i mean.

but if you really want to get your car LOW.... go to www.RSlibertyclub.org it seems dumping your legacy is the thing to do over there in Australia, and they could probably guide you better in that direction than we can.

this picture is just for laurel, because she hates impreza bumpers on legacys  (you're really going to hate my car soon  )

too bad that blue suby is ugly! it probably is from the stock rims/tires. but did anyone else notice the lack of sideskirts? jesus. that pic gives all subies with body kits a bad name! ewww!

actually, that wagon i don't mind. It's well done, and while i'd rather have a car that's drivable, it still looks pretty slick.

uzie-q... Another thing that I want to bring to your attention, if you drop the car very far, and don't get significantly stiffer springs, then you'll run the risk of scraping the shit out of your bumper. Here's a photo of me at an autocross with merely a 1.5 inch drop not maxing out my tires and accelerating(lifting the front end slightly)

another thing to think about, is if you were to put really stiff springs on the car, you risk rattling and loosening the chassis making it sloppier and squeaky. Happened to my 91 after the springs/struts went on.

this doesnt matter since the bumpstops aren't going to move. Of course, if you're constantly going from ~200lb/in to infinity, your car isn't going to handle quite the same. Modified evos and m3s often have trouble with bumpstop collisions.

Jake, where did you find that gem?

I think i've settled on 16" rims with 205/50 tires, and i'm only planning on lowering my car 1.75" via new springs. i'm hoping the larger rims and thinner tires will make my car look even more dropped, thereby decreasing the amount i need to actually drop it. i'll have to wait and see. :|

i know they're not that thin, but i didn't want ones so thin that they would wear down within a year or explode from my tight cornering and/or the potholes that cover the roads where i live. they are way thinner than the tires my dad found and stuck on. any improvement is good for me, and i don't need to go all the way to 2-inch thin tires. :)

Holy Body Roll, Batman! I'm sorry, but even my car doesn't roll that bad with 15 year old struts and springs

Actually, lower profile tires make the car looked jacked up.

I'm not sure you've done that kind of cornering and caught it on film. At this point i was in the middle of what could be called a drift. I had managed to break traction with my re950s. Not quite as easy as it sounds on that course.

thats 205/50/16

Manarius- your car rolls far more than laurel's. She has fairly stiff suspension. There's nothing wrong with body roll though.

'managed to break traction' Whoa! [/keanu]

I've taken some corners pretty fast, and I can't imagine my car rolling over that badly. Then again, I have a sedan so the center of gravity is probably lower.

::EDIT:: Maybe it just looks worse then it actually is, but I just can't quite imagine my car rolling that badly.

it didn't feel that extreme. The only time i've felt really ridiculous body roll was when i took an off-camber turn way too fast and understeered about 10 feet further than i should have been. It's likely that it just felt more extreme due to the off-camber-ness of the corner
