Turbos don't rely soley on gas pressure to spin the turbine. Heat energy plays a huge part. The more energy you can put through the turbo, the better. Thats why ceramic coating, wrapping, or even heat sheilds on pre-turbo exhaust systems makes a difference in spool. Especially on large and elaborate systems like on our Subarus.
