I also vouch that size doesn't equate strength. I've known competition weight lifters that couldn't lift as much as big fat dudes and I can personally haul more weight around than people who outweigh me and have larger arms. I'm not a tank, but I do have a lot of definition without trying.
I never eat breakfast as eating before 10 makes me sick and I wake up at the last minute I can. There's not enough time in a day as it is. Weird thing is, if I eat after 23:00 before going to bed I'll be hungry in the morning, though eating more than a carrot or a muffin (which does nothing to make me feel full) will still make me feel sick.
I hate having to eat, but nowadays I hate having to sleep even more. I really just hate humans and being one. Too much maintenance, too much BS, too many worthless hormones wasting my energy on shit I don't need (like sex - I hate kids and I hate the inane things all the women I meet seem to talk about. Holes with feet that are nothing but disappointments so why do I have to waste my time pursuing them? How do the Buddhist monks do it? Prick body!) that I need to then refocus.

I also have never been able to get above 145-150, no matter how much I eat. I've been told its the high metabolism, I've also been told it's because I'm a fidgeter. Always moving in some way, always using energy.
I also have a tough time making myself eat breakfast. If anything it's just a small snack. Rest of the day I eat when I'm hungry.
I suppose it makes for a faster Subaru when I'm driving it.
Steve - I'm with you on that last paragraph. I'm really embarassed to be a part of the human race.

I accidentally bought some happy pills. I thought they were sleeping aids. Funny thing is, I never thought pills would help my depression but they work damn good, I try to take less than 1 a month and only when I'm feeling really crappy because lithium isn't too heathy for the heart.
As for breakfast, i generally have a protein shake before i head to school.

subawhatsubawho, you have inspired me. I will be your weight loss partner. I was just looking in the mirror and decided that I will start up my workout plan and eating right again. I'll be there for moral support and what not.
I still work out now but not as I should, and I eat crap so the muscle mass I have built up is covered with a layer of fat and flab.
And since I'm moving back in with my parents for a few months, I will have much more good food to eat, no more cheap bad for you crap. And there's a gym 5 minutes from there so no more excuses.

Ive started my weight-loss program before I started gaining the weight. I just turned 21, and my family has a history of being skinny (Im 6'3, 160lbs) up until the mid to late twenties, then plumping out.
Its not so much taht I want to lose weight, but that I want to maintain my metabolism where it is now.
I started gaining a bit of a belly when I was away in Residence and this is what worked for me:
1. Eat 5-6 times throughout the day, instead of 2 or 3 big meals. Eat a lot of meat and fibre, and carbs to match what kind of day it is (lots of carbs on energetic days, not so much on lazing around days)
2. Stop eating junk food. McDonalds is a killer. I dunno about the states, but most grocery stores here have delies where you can order ready-made food that is much higher quality than burger joints, just as fast, and about the same price.
3. Cut out the beer and pop. If you have to drink (like me
) drink hard liquor with water or ice (Having a scotch with a water back is just a good when working on the car as a beer, for me). Drink water instead of pop. Not even fruit juice, unless its 100% natural, most of them are loaded with sugar
4. Breakfast. Even if its just a couple of breakfast bars or what have you, having something for your stomach do first thing in the morning (or whenever you wake up) wakes up your metabolism for the day. Keeps you from falling into that quasi-hibernation mode. Breakfast means you'll be hungrier later in the day, wake up faster and have more energy.
5. Move around. Park a couple blocks away from work and walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you go somewhere on your lunchbreak to eat, walk there instead of driving.
Thats about all I can think of for now. It's really the little things that can make or break a weightloss attempt. Huge efforts tend to wear thin in a couple days. Atkins diets without proper consulation will not work, because the they were never meant to work the way people do them. Make small choices and turn them into habits.

I don't have BPD. I'm too sure of myself and others plus I have excellent impulse control ... well decent anyway to the point of being way above the average (never done any drugs save the ones they gave me when my wisdom teeth were pulled, hardly drink, don't start fights, and I haven't had sex in 6 years). I do exhibit some signs of it, but I believe I have more a form of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder, which has some common symptoms) and I suffer from bouts of depression (which is genetic). Where did the PTSD come from? The character form of me in my books obviously has plenty of call for it with the violent criminal world he lives in, but in my case, I was born this way. Past life trauma, then? Who knows, but I have no doubt that if that stuff exists that I've killed many people in the past. Anyway, that's why I write my crap, to try to figure myself out. Zeus knows the unfortunate psychiatrists I've gone to couldn't do it.

I'm doing the best I can to try and improve my own health. A while ago, I went on another fast-food binge, and it was getting bad enough that I was having some blood circulation issues. I would wake up in the night, sometimes several times, and I would have no blood in one or more limbs (usually my right arm), and it wasn't like I was sleeping on it funny, I just guess my heart wasn't pumping hard enough to get blood to those limbs.
To remedy that, I've increased my fiber intake quite a bit (whole-grain breads, beans, apples, oatmeal, the like), and I've tried as hard as I can to cut out the junk food. Super Size Me wasn't kidding, that shit really is addictive.
I'm also doing a job where I'm at least doing some hustling, which I'm not saying is a substitute for exercise (I really, really need to start that again), but it's better than a desk job.
It's really not so much an issue of non-exercise though, it's just an improvement of eating habits. Most of us eat waaay too much fat and sugar and cholesterol, and many of us that THINK we're eating healthy aren't really. For instance, while eggs are good for you overall, you are aware that the yolk contains about 85-90% of the cholesterol you need for the day?? And those delicious little Andes chocolate mints you get after dinner at Olive Garden? ONE contains 40% of your daily saturated fat intake. 40%!!
I'm not claming to be fat, my girlfriend thinks my body is "fucking amazing"
But I know I could get more muscle, and lose some fat. And one day, just maybe one day, I might achieve that goal...

The daily percentage amounts are a bunch of BS IMO. I couldn't live off a 2000 calorie diet. I probably burn that by lunch time.

Well, they're sorta BS because the percentage values are based on the food pyramid eating routine. But if the nutrition facts say something like those Andes mints having 40% of your daily saturated fat in one piece, you can at least figure out that they're full of fat and should be eaten sparingly or not at all.
The pyramid seriously needs to go. They want you to have 2 servings a day of meats and 2 servings of fruits, and 3 servings a day of vegetables, but they want you to have bread and pasta 6 times a day??? Gimme a fuckin break. Unless you're an Olympic athlete, you'd be a fat disgusting pig in no time, and you'd have a vitamin deficiency problem too.

The serving size specified is pretty small, not what I'd consider a serving.

Looks like I have to do some serious dieting now. I found out today that my blood pressure is 160 over 90. Not good at all.
For dinner I had a small piece of London Broil, a large salad and some broccoli for dinner. With a tall bottle of water from Colorado. Ouray to be exact...home of the Jeep meet.

if you steam broccoli with soy sauce instead of water, it puts enough sodium into the broccoli that it is tasty, and you don't have to add salt or butter. Grilling chicken and then slicing it and mixing everything into a bowl of rice is a healthy way to get plenty vitamins and minerals with only the fat that is inherent in the chicken breast. Very tasty.
