Maybe it's one of those mods that's about 4 times the cost of just dropping in a vf34.

The results, although impossible to reliably measure without a dyno, could be a (guess) 5 % gain in performance. :?

But, if I win a lottery 8)

yea but you also gain at least 20% street cred

But will a twin scroll actually make more power, or will it just allow faster spool?

AFAIK, a twin scroll simply allows a large turbo to spool faster, for better power under the curve.

Peak power is not affected.

No ver.7's come with a twinscroll factory, even the spec C or RA's didnt get one. The twinscrolls really do get the turbo spooling much faster, and im pretty sure they are close to equal length as if ur herd a TS car they sound like an evo or similar. Also they do pull more on they dyno as they are more efficent, somewhere in the 10% range going ver.7 to ver.8 back to back

There were lots of other power differences between Version 7 and Version 8 STi's though, weren't there?

It wasn't simply a twin scroll setup that was different. Did the Version 7 motors have AVCS?

How much faster is "much faster" 100RPM? 1000 RPM? Personally, I'm not going to spend $1000 to spool 100 RPM sooner.

I coulda sworn the V7 Spec C's were twin scroll. My mistake.

I have got a Vf36 for sale if anyone is interested,it has very low kms and is like new.I finished up using a vf37 and sent it to Deadbolt to get the bigger compressor wheel, the vf36 was too good a turbo to take the titanium wheel off it,because i was using it for a Ej257.
Twinscroll sounds awesome compared to your normal boxer rumble,I have had my twinscroll on my 92 Liberty for a few years now, that is what we call Legacy in Australia it doesn't give you max hp but very enjoyable, fast spooling turbo for everyday use,my car made 295hpatw and ran 12.55 1/4 mile.but it is a joy to drive this car everyday.I'm running about 9:1 compression on the ej257 which gives you good torque off boost until the turbo hits which is instant. It wasn't planned that way but the extra compression help with off boost power.
By the way the vf37 does come with a bellmouth dumpipe as well, the vf 38 is twinscroll off the new Legacy gt which is a smaller unit and even the equal manifold are different ,these are not interchangeable with the vf36,37 and also the pipe size is different.
