Our Audi A4 has them. Most pointless feature evar. But other than that, the car was exactly what we wanted, so we just sucked it up and paid the extra $350 or so.

No, only the ones with xenon lights have to have them. I think it has something to do with the light beam...

I want a dual-range tranny in my Forester.

I'm not kidding. That'd be hittin. Did they have a dual range manual transmission mated to an EJ25 or EJ22 over there (with a 4.44:1 final drive, and a push type clutch?)

Vikash knows better than I why headlight squirters are necessary.

Fulton - American's in general don't even understand how to use fog-lights correctly (let alone the rear foglight on some european cars).

Oh, I'm familiar. We keep the foglights on the Forester and A4 off unless it's, you know, foggy. The most annoying thing is people who mount super-bright, misaimed foglights and leave them on all the time. We had a truck with foglights shining straight into our eyes somewhere in Wyoming while we were driving out to Salt Lake... it was hard enough driving after that length of time anyway, let alone with fog lights in the rearview mirrors.

EJ22 had a dual range tranny. EJ25 is from the 3. gen of legacy right? If it is than they didnt have it because all were automatics here. Here most of the foresters are 2.0.

EJ25 is for Legacy 2, 3 and 4. Overhere.

In the legacy 2 only automatic, Legacy 3 and 4 both automatic and manual.

I don't know the final drive...

Hum... Netherlands sounds interesting for short brake we have in beggining of May... not only the pot is legal, they have 2nd gen EJ25...

I think we - at least continent european subi fans - have to make a gathering... here in Slovenia we are preparing "huge" picnic in September... all SubiFans (and people with good sence of humor) are welcome....

2nd gen EJ25 is pretty much the same as the 3rd gen EJ25, only it has less horsepower.

Rasta SLO and/or SP-Boxer -- can you take a picture of your HVAC (heating/air conditioning) control panel? I think I want an EDM one to replace my stupid USDM one, but I don't know because I can't find a good enough picture.

SP-Boxer, is yours the same, or do you have buttons for the different vent settings instead of that slider? I know the Australia and NZ DM ones have the buttons, but they're RHD.

Rasta SLO, can you do me a huge favor? Feel free to say no to this, though, because it takes some work. Can you take off the dashboard trim piece and take out the climate control and take a picture of the connections on the back? I can give you instructions based on the USDM confituration.

It will require taking out four screws on the radio trim piece, seven or eight screws on the dashboard trim piece (including three behind switch areas, which requires popping out the switches), two to take off the top of thee steering column surround, and two to remove the glovebox to get to the temp control cable. Then there are two to get the control box out, and you have to remove the temp control cable and unplug a couple of harnesses to slide it out all the way.

If that's too much trouble, feel free to say so, but it's in the interest of better HVAC controls for USDM cars.

I think i know a better way to do this. There is a guy near me that has tons of used parts for legacy-s. I will go to him and take a picture of the removed HVAC controls. I do think that 2.2 gx legacys had different HVAC controls so i will take a picture of both controls. I will try to do this as soon as possible but i dont promise anything. For the removal of my controls i really dont have the time right now.

edm HVAC omg u r 2 euro!

I'm not getting it just to have an EDM part, I'm getting it so I can have bilev AC... or recirculation for the heater... or bilev recirc AC!

Plus I like the graphical logos for the different air pathway settings.

Ok, so i have taken the pictures from the HVAC control from 2.2 legacy Gx. It did not have the climate control button but as far as i know, there is not much work to put it in. I hope it helps you in any way.

That's pretty much exactly what I want. It has buttons instead of that slider for the different air pathway settings, which I like, and the connectors seem to be the same.

Just one question -- what's that button all the way on the left?

on that button it says "on heating" , that button only existed in Legacy 1.gen (pre-facelift) i must ask someone exactly what that button does.

Did any 2.2GXes come with AC?

If so, can someone in Europe go to a dealership and get me a part number for a 2.2GX panel with AC?

I'd like to see if I can order from over here in the U.S., hence why I'm asking for the part number. Alternatively, if anyone can find a working 2.2GX/AC panel, I will buy it from them. I have a little bit of disposable income right now, so this is my "mod of the moment."

As far as i know yes, they did. But i think the A/C was installed aftermarket (not in factory).

AC was an option in all models. So there are very less cars with AC in Holland, because in that time it was very rare in the west of europe

But you can install AC later, in your own panel. You only need the AC from another Legacy I want to do the same thing!

So the weather here in Europe sucks bigtime. And i decided to finish my acoustic project of installing loudspeakers in my a pillars.

Not at all, this was my first time working with vinyl (i think its called like that in english). Yesterday i also connected the loudspeakers and now my legacy sounds very decent.
