nevada has some of the most minimal vehicle laws in regard to safety equipment, emissions equipment, and titles.

I drive one about 80-100 miles a day for work, I've already put 7k miles on it in the 3 months I've worked there. The only difference is mine is oh-so-cleverly disguised with badges that say "Mazda" and "B3000" on them...

Not to mention the Bronco II my grandpa and I inherited from his brother, which is nothing but an older Ranger with a SUV body on it. We got rid of that in a hurry.

Jason, yep - bid4assets.com, look up "Elko" and see all the crap that comes up. You'll get all kids of cheap property for auction in Elko County (lots of stuff right on the Utah/Nevada border, by West Wendover, and lots of stuff around the city Elko near I-80.)

Man - I've been working with a rented Bobcat front-end loader the past two days, we've almost got the land ready for the concrete forms! I'm definately an amateur, but my video game experience has been invaluable controlling that tank. (Virtual On baby!) We've got it for another 2 hours before it gets picked up, so we'll be heading back out to the propertah to use it until the very end. Might not be so long before we build a shop after all....

Ford cars are just not an option. Ford trucks I suppose are an option if I find one cheap enough, as they are better at making trucks than cars. But I'd much rather have a GMC or Chevy, or if I can't find one of them a Toyota or even an Isuzu Pup would do the job. My friend had one of them in high school and he dogged the shit out of that thing, always ran fine. The Subaru does just fine getting there over the crazy unmaintained dirt road, but I just don't like chancing my baby like that.

The freedom out here is unreal. Everyone in this city is so freaking nice and helpful, and you can do just about anything you want.

It's funny, almost every single road sign or abandoned vehicle on the dirt road out to my property is shot up. Lots of shotgun shells and bullets (spent and unused!) all around. I've got to get a gun so I can join in the fun. :)

Just bought a 1987 Toyota pickup RWD 5-speed for $400. It'll make a nice work truck, the bed's pretty rusted out but it's all good. :)
