1000 is a great price for a car in that kind of condition, and from what people are saying in this thread, EJ22Ts pave the sidewalks, so it should be no problem finding one to put in it.

Why wont it roll?

But alright, the engine + how much for the whole car?

Motor and Crossmember plus $600 US

And don't try to pull the wool over my eyes, I see the price in the pictures

so... you want 1,000 for a car with no engine and wont even roll.... yeah.... good luck with that :smt033
That's not what irks me, it's this little tidbit:
Splinter wrote:My buddy sean has found a touring wagon with a rear main seal leak (oh no! end of the world!!!), going for $1000.
Wanting to sell it for what he bought it for minus an engine. Unless there's something I'm not aware of.

you find me any 1992 car that sells for 1,000 w/o a motor and unable to roll, and i'll give you a lollipop

one of the a-arm's mounting points happens to reside on the crossmember... take the xmember away and no more mounting point.

yeah i payed the price on the window.. as for it won't roll... well i'll be switching out my cross member to the legacy (98 2.5RS).. so it'll have a crossmember in it just i'll be an NA one.. cause thats a requirement of leaving the engineless chassis at my parents house.. IT MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE EASILY....

but wow.. i never knew there was such a fan base for the legacy wagon's.. i tell ya my eyes are definately opened.

well guys (and maybe girls too), i'm beginning to think that you guys seem to think i'm a horrible monster for doing this to a TW legacy.., but here something for you guys to consider..

at least i'm offering this car to legacy lovers.. and not a scrap yard or turning the car into a crash to pass car or something like that. I'm a car nut myself, and i know as cars get older they need parts, and part soon become harder and harder to find, and we all know that shopping at subaru for every solenoid/switch/fender/hood etc will cost you an arm and a leg, well i'm offering some obviously dedicated legacy fans the chance to have first crack at a whole bunch of really good legacy parts. I know whenever i've gone junkyard shopping, i always find that part thats been broken in a crash, and needed that exact part, and lord knows that was the only one left in the whole place.. well thats why i'm offering this to you guys. PLAIN AND SIMPLE

i'm not doing this to make ANY money.. almost by the time the dust settled on purchasing this car, it was just below 2,000 by the time the taxes/dealer charges came out.. so to ask if ppl want the parts i don't want, to offset the high cost i've already had to take out my pocket, doesn't make me a bad person, it just makes me realistic.

How about we just work a deal with you to keep the car in one piece and get you a nice ej22t and crossmember, shipped to you, already out of the car. :D

Best thread on here in weeks :D

And I'm on the fence about parting this one out, I see both sides. As a rule, I like to see these driven into into the ground and then part out. This one does kind of seem like it should be spared, however I also support projects of various scopes and it is YOUR money.

If this one was $1500 canadian, hell man, sell the car to someone here for profit, then pay less for your motor in the long run. Motor packages are available (I've got them!)

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Keith @ Frantic Four (saving more turbo legacies than anybody at this point, and giving the best parts new life in lots of projects :-D )
