Jeeze find another part store - that's ridiculous! I thought I got reemed buying it for 11.99...Dunno where Scotty got it for 8.99. Try mailorder?

Hey, doesn't even look like they have dealers in Canada - what gives?

you may also be able to substitute GM synchromesh, which is cheaper, or the pennzoil knockoff of synchromesh which I am unsure of the name.

We sell it for $11.77 a quart (the shockproof). Make sure you aren't getting the superlightweight or the Heavyweight. You need the lightweight.

GM Synchromesh = Penzoil Snycroshift

I wouldn't put the stuff in my trans though.

Not sure what we're talking about here...

Penzoil Synromesh (essential ingredient in Scott's cocktail - balances out shockproof from what I understand.)

Here are the product details...

http://www.pennzoil.com/products/gear_o ... fluid.html

I'll try Scotty's mix for a year or so (unless it sucks and stops working) and try the 50/50 Shockproof oil mix next.

But I think they'll both work...

But the numbers of users are with Scotty even tho it is a PITA to find ingredients...

Cheers!

Splinter is Canadian -- so his price is probably in CAD, hence why it's so expensive.

No, I haven't... but I'm pretty sure most prices were set when the exchange rate was significantly different, hence why there's still such a big price difference. Of course, I could be talking through my hat, but I do that all the time anyway.

Dump in the Motul first, then fill to full line with Shockproof. Gotta be the blue lightweight. If it still grinds after this, then something is most likely broken.

Problem seems to have solved itself.

I just lost first and second gear, looks to be a bad shifter fork, since there were no metal shavings in the oil
