okay maybe a can answer a few of the questions.

A couple of weeks ago I change the Timing belt (13028AA102), Camshaft seals (806732150), Camshaft O-rings (806946030), water pump (21111AA007) and thermostat (21200AA072 & 21236AA010) on my 94gt. When I purchased the parts from the dealer I forgot to tell them that I have a single port EJ22 out of a later Subaru in my GT. All of the part worked just fine. I've driven the GT a few hundred miles since I did all of this work.

I do have a slightly off topic question. I am curious about witch version of the EJ22 I have. Dose anyone know if the Engine code is stamped anywhere on the block or heads?

Well, the engine code is stamped, but all it says is EJ22.

If it's single port, we know it's at least post-95, and it's most likely interference.

If it's the same timing belt then it's not the phase II engine.

So I'm guessing you have the interference version of the Phase I EJ22, which was (commonly) produced between 97-98.
