Chad,

No, it wasn't me. Like I posted earlier in the thread, I don't have the funds for it. Although, if I had the funds, I would have entered a bid in the last few seconds too :-D (but with a higher maximum amount).

But when I saw the pics posted, it really made me want to get them. That's the kind of light intensity I want in my headlights although I prefer a wider beam spread. I used to run Marchal's 7" round flat face E-code headlights on my VW Bug and the low beams would have at least a 135 degree beam spread -- it would light up 6 to 8 lanes to the sides. On the high beams, you wouldn't be able to outdrive them.

Congrats on winning them! :D

And, yeah, please post comparisons. I'm looking forward to that!

That pic SP-Boxer posted is awesome - they look probably a little better than the Hella 90mm conversion and of course appear stock. Nice score.

ericem wrote:wow, those lights are WAY brighter then the stock lens, but do you have pics of how far the beam was with a normal bulb?

I'm sorry, I don't have those pictures :?

@evolutionmovement: Thx, It does look awesome in real. Costs: about 230 dollars  , but what a lightbeam 8)

That's still a little cheaper than the Hella set up. The lights were $59 ea. (x4) and then you have to get the wiring kits, and I'd recommend an extra set of junk yard headlights so you can drive the car while modding the buckets and have a back up in case you screw up. I'm sure they also bounce less since the headlight brackets on the pre facelifts have to be pretty thinned out to fit the lights through them and they lose most of their rigidity. Maybe mounting the Hella brackets to the inside of the headlight lens instead of the housing would buy you enough room to reduce the cutting and keep it more rigid, but it would also look more bugeyed, would preclude the BMW cover look, and would probably have break down problems as polycarbonate (especially long-exposed to UV) is more brittle than the headlight bucket.
