I hate to tell you, the person your looking for is not an e-bay scammer. But you can believe what you wish...
Mike: Wish you'd have told me it was for sale when i left your place two weeks ago, i'd have driven it home then! LOL Oh well, gots another project now...
To any future bidder : Drives nice as can be !

I'd have this if i'd have only known.

Wow, we made a deal last night on this car, he wanted cash only. I went to the bank this morning to see about borrowing some, the car looked too good to pass up. Now I see that he is gonzo, my last messages are still in my Outbox and he changed the info in his profile.
Now I see this in the RS25 site, is his name Mike Davis??

I would never call anyone a crook until I hear his story, maybe something happened to him?

Where is he? It's hard to believe you wouldnt give one shot at defending yourself after this much chatter is going on the boards.

At least I no longer have to feel like a wuss for not wanting to drive all that way for another car I don't need. $2K was almost too good to pass up, but apparently also too good to be true.

Apparantly, it's on craigslist for $3500.

As of last night I was the buyer, I think he just put "sold" in the topic so that this thread would die.

I was just looking at the stuff on the RS25 site, man are they pissed!!
Some guy even got permission to post his name, address, phone # etc!! I guess he is packing his bags now before the mob with the torches show up.
I thought that maybe a hospital stay or (?) messed him up but now I think he has been dishonest for years; various eBay ID's with bad feedback.
He seemed like such a good guy last night (sigh)

That sucks. Glad you didn't get taken Frank.
Guess it's about time again that another scammer came through the BBS... atleast this board came out relatively unscathed. I think the last time was Subawhatsubwho or such.
Anybody notice the disproporinate number of lurkers posting in this thread?

UPDATE

I actually just bought this car, without ever seeing any of the scam stuff online. i have had it for like maybe 10 days or so. I dont know about how he treated others but i wasnt scammed that i know of. This car is fast as hell and then tranny shifts smooth. The only thing is that the check engine light comes on at high speed he told me it was a speed sensor thing that came along with the tranny swap, car wont give me a code when i shut it off so i guess he's being honest, no noticeable torque bind or anything bad yet, just think he never told the computer that the car was a stick now and when im going 75 the car thinks its in park??????

appologies for not knowing, i did the whole thing where u drive it in a donut not knowing any bettter, im a jeep guy not subaru. I would apppreciate something constructive about the CEL thing alot more than know it all things like that. if you do know it all can you please instruct me on what to do if anything about the CEL at high speeds, do i not worry about it or do something about it. I realize flaming runs crazy on boards like these but there are things i dont know, not everyone in the world is born with massive amounts of knowledge about 14 year old subarus. This light worries me because im using it for long trips to and from work. I am not a subaru enthusiast, just a guy that ended up with one and need it for work. My wrangler is just not practical for long trips anymore. obviously you guys on here know about this shit alot more than me, i came for help and thats all. notice the ? marks came after the check engine light comment....not the torque comment.
