Absolutely ridiculous! I'm sure that bepa was totally unaware that he had smashed the underside of the car all to hell......probably the reason he was trying to sell it.

I notice that he isn't posting anymore either.....not that his posts made much since. Was he foriegn or something Scott?

I moderated.

Bepa, the name sounds familiar. That's not the guy who ran over a bundle of rebar on the highway, was it?

He may have jumped the car or swapped parts onto it from one of the many junked cars he bought. 99% of his posts on LegacyGT.com, Nasioc, and here are all in the Partsshed-type places looking to buy random bits and pieces.

FWIW, he posted a phone number in another thread. I don't know if it's his or not:

646-235-8355

Give him a call, Scott, if you are having a tough time getting in touch with him.

Well, I have his number. I'm just so annoyed I didn't want to even speak to him.

That sucks. Amazing if that's all the damage he did hitting rebar. My friend hit a few pieces with his Cavalier (finally dead @ 315k miles!) and it put samarai sword slices through the floor boards and even went through the passenger sill into the door, jamming it shut. He's lucky not to have been impaled.

This is why I don't trust people. I drove to Detroit to look at an SS I was told was in great shape only to drive back when I inspected it to find a complete POS. Not that I'm blaming you - this community has a lot of really cool people on it and I would be more inclined myself to take someone from here at their word that the car was good.

I would understand if you did blame me. I was in a fix and needed a car with limited funds so I bit. I did know there would be some issues I'm just surprised it turned out to basically be the whole car. At least the body is in pretty rust free condition minus one small spot. After I'm done with it it'll be in good shape.

If there's an upside to it it would be that I've been getting into shape by riding my bike to and from work and about.

I remember horror stories from Steve just before I bought my car. It's scary the shit people don't tell you about their car.

Finally, some good news.

The car is out of the shop and runs well.

There are no CEL's anymore....yay!

The vf8 has been installed with a tmic. The car runs great! All that's left to do in the time being is to clean it up and fix the rust.

I want to give HUGE kudos to Gary and Ken Abernatha and their shop. Who would have guessed that I would find a small garage like theirs, tucked away in apalachia that would do such awesome custom work. The owner did the complete swap and vf8 install out of a two car garage amidst all his other work. Thanks Gary!!!

What's the name of the shop Scott? Glad to hear things have started to go your way for a change. Hitting a streak of bad luck like that always sucks ass!

BTW, if you need any further help, just get ahold of me or let Matt know. He, Phil & Vikash can all vouch that I have more than enough tools to get things fixed, replaced or customized. Heck, I'm already deep into Legacy SS project (but, still on the hunt for cash to purchase my buddy's car). Matt's been a big help so far (even if he doesn't think he has...) and the car is going to turn out to be a beast!

I got to take a ride in Scotts car the other night and it drives really good. The vf8 makes the car pull very nice and the v2 slant tmic works very well. I'd guess, based on my extremely accurate Butt Dyno (patent pending) that he's pushing about 200 chp right now. :D

Jason- You're too kind.

Sir, I'd like to see some paperwork on the patent you are claming... I call B.S. on this one.
Glad it's all running well. And thank you for all your help so far Matt.

I hear you lose like 5 to 9 pounds from those, and you feel GREAT afterwards.

The comment about the colonic was a joke referring to the ass reaming I got when I bought this car, lol.

Oh, I'm going to strip the silver car. Any suggestions on what to take, Phil? I'm going to try and get the rear diff, steering column etc.

Also, bepa contacted me and offered to try and make it right so, if he follows through in any way he could be an alright guy. BUT, he did throw the 'you looked at the car' line to me. True, but some things aren't easily seen. He claims that he 'might' know how the damage happened because he lent the car out but I just can't see how you wouldn't know about some of that shit. He did know about the steering rack. There's one thing he didn't mention to me. According to my mechanic, it was pretty bad.

I know your kind of partial to the prefacelift body, but didn't your 93 have a black interior?

If so, I would DEFINATELY swap the interior over to black. Do the whole thing. It'll be worth the time. Plus, if you do that, you have the opportunity to completely clean the 91 and depending on your goals add or remove sound deadening material.

I would strongly suggest upgrading the rear lateral links (and swaybar) on the 91 to those from the 93. You'll then have a wider range of endlink options and all that jazz. WRX stuff fits easily.

That's really about it. They are both otherwise mostly identical.

The black interior is gone with the black car. I installed it right before the 'nice lady' hit it. I got sick of dealing with it so I let it go, bad choice. I"ve been trying to track it down but not having any luck. Can anyone help with that? I can't seem to get a person to talk with me about it. I know who took the car but they won't talk to me because of some bullshit privacy rule. My thoughts are that they might provoke the kind of reaction from me they are trying to avoid by their privacy crap. I'm about ready to do down there and get ugly about it.

The Odyssey continues....!

So now the tranny has gone bad...the one from my other SS. I'm fucked with this car. Woo hoo. Good times! Well, at least I have the engine and tranny that were originally in the car. Surely I can get something for those to help pay for this trannny job.

Scott, if you didn't have bad luck you'd have no luck at all... Very sorry to hear of all your troubles with the car.
