Pick up some reman Legacy Turbo calipers from NAPA for under $150 for both, and you've got LGT rears, for less than takeoffs (and you've got better pads and rotors to boot), and WAY less than new. New is around $700 for OEM parts.
Can you guys elaborate on what you're talking about here, maybe I missed something, but it doesn't seem correct.
The new LGT rear setup (aka the old B4 rear setup) is different then the turbo legacy rear setup in all ways, caliper and bracket. I'm pretty sure you can not use the turbo legacy caliper with the LGT rear caliper.
Anyway....not sure if that was what you were talking about. Let me know if I misread something.

They're brackets to move the turbo leg calipers out = Same rotor and piston area as LGT.

Are you talking about custom brackets?

yeah that's what this whole thing is about. Racing brake makes their own brackets and rotors for wrx people to do the h6 upgrade, so Phil wants to see what it will take for them to make a bracket for t-leg calipers and an LGT rotor.
I suspect the tooling costs will be pretty high.

I actually think the extension bits will be identical to the H6 application, since the main difference in the bracket isn't the uprights, but rather the caliper carrier. An LGT bracket isn't anything more than a wider H6 bracket.
I'm go for testing!

The rear kit is go for prototyping. We'll see how it turns out!

Hey so I've heard that the SVX brackets might be exactly what you are having made.

I'm glad somebody brought this topic back up. I've been getting pretty curious about this whole thing myself, particularly now that I have my SS.
Any news on this Phil?
Jamal, where did you hear this? Anyway we can confirm any of this?

the svx has 290mm rear rotors, some vented (x18mm), some solid (x10mm) and they use the same pads as our cars.

The only vented svx rear brakes are on non-USDM svx's They use the same calipers also. NA wagon = USDM SVX, Turbo = non-USDM svx.

SVX rotors are different bolt pattern.

The SVX came up as a matter of being able to use the same brackets to mount the calipers to as opposed to having custom ones made.

I'm not convinced of that. Still looking into it though. Many online places have two different rotor part numbers.

All OEM SVX rear rotor part numbers supercede to 26310PA090, so they're all the same.

I swapped over to the wrx setup all the way around, which, afaik has no real difference in the rear brakes. I did, however, throw in the wagon prop valve. this makes the rears lockup a tiny bit quicker than the fronts, and makes for very even braking under normal driving.
I think phils idea is GREAT, its always good to see someone step to the plate and try to make packages of known performance parts and offer them based on their actual abilities. but I'm happy enough with what I've got that I recommend my setup to anyone who asks me about em.

It's actual and factual.
Name that tune.

Still waiting for updates. Apparently, the kit is go for production, so I'll get a demo for testing and we'll go from there.

Updates? I've got the rotors, now I need the brackets

. Finding JDM SVX brackets has been a bit difficult.

Updates?
I have cash ATM, so I am keenly interested in this setup.

HA!
Ready to go! The kits are go for production. There are two that apply to you Turbo owners.
The 290x18 bracket and the 316x18 bracket. Make your choice. The 316 kit comes with brake lines, because stock lines are too short.
They will be available for order within the next few days, and will be prepared for shipment in about 8 weeks.
If anyone purchases a kit, you know who did the design

Oh, and for non-turbo owners, there will be a kit including the caliper for upgrade.
I BELIEVE the with-caliper upgrade will cost within $100 of the 'regular' H6 upgrade. Pricing hasn't been confirmed with me and I have no real influence over it.
