Make it fast, make it BLACK!
Are you running the stock turbo?

lol. i was going to paint them flat black, rustolum high heat.

but i want them to still stand out in the bay. i was thinking may be just a clear coat?

and yes this is on the stock vf11 turbo.

Or STi crinkle red. That'll increse flow and efficiency to make more power.
Let us all know how your turbo spools (i.e. noticably slower or the same)when its finished.

heres pics. and yes its a genuine hks bov, for $142 with the right type of flange.

That looks cool but,
Whats so special about the HKS vs. any other bypass/bov?
Can you re-circ with that, or were you planning on venting to atmosphere?

well this bov is a pull type and boost actually helps it stay closed so you never get boost leak from your bov. its a good high quality bov that stands by its name. and if you take the fins out it, makes a way cooler sound then a stupid loud whistle. yes you can buy a re-circ kit for it. to help with cars like owers but im gonna be running atmospherically.

Your set-up looks nice.

I know you already painted the tubing, but rust-o-leum makes Black Epoxy paint that is very nice & durable (its for ovens) for anyone else who is looking for a black color option (it looks like a gloss black powder coat).

Are you running the car yet, if so what are your thoughts re. performance?

When I had the ej22t FMIC'd on the VF11 I felt spool was very similar to stock on my 4EAT believe it or not....

Will venting to atmo not cause fueling issues, or does the perfect power run off the map?

We're all dying to know how it runs!(by all, I mean me, namely)

You should soft-disc the welds on your piping to make them look teh nicer

i just got the flange welded on last night so today there going in. i used to paint for grills, resistant up to 1200 degrees stuff.

ill post my thoughts and try to explain how it runs with the pipes in with a stock turbo and stock exhaust. turbo lag, the difference in acceleration. my boost cut defender is still not working properly so im only going to run 12psi, i wanted 15.

but heres a pic of the bov all done.

ok everone, the car is running great and has gained quite a bit of power just from this mod. boost lag is almost like stock, a little slower but not by much. plus i still have a stock exhaust. we where going to buy a new turbo for my car ether a vf30 or a 16g. but as it is right now its plenty fast for the stock suspension and breaking system. personally i think its too fast at only 11psi. and plus i still dont have my pp6 running im still running off a bridge. so i could imagine this car at 15psi and a nice tune with the pp6. it would be nuts to me.

thank you all for watching me hack my car apart during my intercooling journey.
it was fun and hope you all enjoyed my post. hope this will help people in the future on this type of mod and or how to run there pipes. thank you

Thank you for the write-up and pics. No fueling issues with the atmo BOV?
This will be my reference for when I go front mount.

well the fueling isue i dont know because i dont have a wide band guage to watch my AFR's. i know it runs rich between shifts. but it drives just fine. once in a while ill get a back fire but thats about it.

well now that the intercooler is all done my clutch cant handle the extra power now witch sucks.

i have a n/a legacy clutch with only 10k on it. im planing on buying a 3puck sprung disc with a stock pressure plate. they say this disc dosen't need a high clamping force.

clutchnet.com that is.
