thanks
you can't diss on the slinky though, well...yeah go ahead it's what ruined my car right now anyway
i had multiple rubber hoses before but they wouldn't stay on... and i knew the slinky wouldn't hold pressure but i tried it anyway b/c i've been working on this thing for like a month now.
Excitement got the best of me!
anybody got a stock 92-94 coolant tank? let me know PLEASE if so
i thought it was just the nipple but upon further examination, well.... yeah the tank exploded.

Hahaha zach I also have been to napa about 300 times in one week, they have sooo much of my money.
Invest in a few t-bolts, they will solve hose pop off issues.

I bought mine at a farm equipment supplier here in Moscow, Napa dude had no idea what they were
Damn those tanks are shitty, I have to thank DLC for installing a nice aluminum one from JC sports(no longer in business)

I couldn't agree more. He searched around and tried to find info and did what he thought was best. He tried, hit a hiccup and now he's on the road to success hahaha.
+1 for setting an example of how to use this board.

Search Ebay for the T-bolts. The chinese T-bolts kick the ass out of American. Cheaper and better. I am not sure why, but every chinese T-bolt I use is still working, while the American T-bolts gall up and are chucked after two uses.

for the tank, just get some brass nipple and JB Weld (sounds kinky)
Did the same thing with my Saab tmic and the brass nipple haven't failed after a year or so.

i considered doing that too, until i noticed that the entire top of the coolant tank (not overflow) was cracked and well really cracked, so i need a whole new one.
i could do that but it's plastic right?
i would have that done right now if ^^^ wasn't the case

I can't tell for sure from the picture which hose that is -- is it the big one that goes to the back of the stock coolant tank?
But anyway... That just happens with old hoses. Twist and pull harder, or go ahead and cut it if you can replace it. It can also help to push it with a wrench that kind of fits around the pipe that it's attached to.

yeah i got it, it was just weird because 1st the hose clamp evaporated somehow

Get some picks. They look like large dental picks, come in different lengths and angles. You poke them under the hose at the stuck end and move them between the rubber and metal parts to break the seal, then twist them loose as much as you can. Just pulling on them hard enough to break the kind of seal they develop at that point can easily ruin them or severely weaken them anyway. You can do the same with a small screwdriver, but not when stuff's buried like that hose. Just be careful that when you use anything to poke them that you don't poke through them. Spray lubricant also helps once you get something under the hose.

gt2.5turbo wrote:th hose number is NAPA HOSE 8338. once you see the hose you will know what side to use. I cut my stock y-pipe after the ridges sith enought left to fit enough hose to fit in an exhuast pipe reducer to use to connect the hose to the turbo. the ypipe to exhaust piping hose was just a random rad. hose NAPA had that was big enough to fit over the ypipe. The site is down other wise id post a pic of the hose.
Yeah putting the ac under the pitchstop worked great
i know how to put everything together, im just worried about cutting another* 30$ hose the wrong way.
if anyone can interpret the red, that would be sweet.
