That's what I'm wondering, is it the cam or the crank signal that the ECU uses to time the injection pulses? I don't have any malfunction codes, just a constant long 1 blink. I've gotten 11 before when I unplugged the crank sensor just to test it. I've going to rewire as much as I can, eliminating plugs, and direct wire to the ECU, and just see what happens with the grounds and everything. So very wierd indeed!

It times them using the crank angle sensor, but it figures out which cylinder it should be firing based on the cam angle sensor.
If the problem is subtle enough it seems possible for it to not trip a trouble code.

I pulled out the cam sensor today and looked at the back of the cam sprocket as I turned the crank pulley. I can see "teeth" on the wheel, just little bumps that are arranged in a 2 tooth and a 3 tooth pattern. As in, there are two close together, and then a little further around, three together. I don't know what it should have? This is the same cam sprocket that came off that side. Anyone know what that intake cam should have for an arrangement?

90 degrees off from the 2-tooth pattern and the 3-tooth pattern, there should be a single tooth. Did you see those single teeth?

Yes, I can see all of the timing teeth on the cam sprocket. Is there a certain tooth that should line up with 0 degrees on the crank? I am going to try a few new things today. I appreciate all the help, this has been sooooo very frustrating!

I got it figured out!!
I finally found a proper shop manual online for this specific engine, and I had the crank out of time. I had it timed to a mark on the nose of the timing gear, and not the mark on the base, near the sensor. The cams and everything were all timed up, so I was fooling myself. I caught a glimpse of the manual with the timing belt set up, and thought it looked different, so I checked that, and sure enough, that was it! I took the timing belt off, and spun the crank 90 deg and now the engine fires right up!
The bad thing is that the 0 mark on the crank pulley is where I left things to time, but that is not where the manual says to time things, hence my issue! Atleast I only spent a lot of time diagnosing my stupidity, and not a lot of money! I appreciate all the help from everyone!
