i almost bought those, but they were expensive as hell
kumho ecsta asx instead

I am gonna get these wheels but I am looking at RE70s instead. http://www.tirerack.com/images/trans.gif

Problem is that these are OE on STis and so the take off market is full of 225s, so I probs have to go retail. In which case I might do Kuhmo

What exactly are all the mods on this car?

And didn't you paint it recently? Any rust repair?

Not painted. I was thinking about it, but never pulled the trigger.

Flowmaster-Super 40 Muffler

Exterior: 02-03 WRX scoop
New USDM Headlights
JDM F. turn signals
2006 WRX Wheels
ADM Rear trunk piece
EDM Taillights
German plate
ADM RS Turbo decals

Interior: Grant steering wheel  (too small)

Uninstalled stuff: SAAB intercooler
Invidia V3 catless DP

Maintenance stuff completed: New timing belt
ALL front seals
Oil pump reseal
New HLA's RH intake side
New valve cover gaskets/grommets
Various popped coolant lines(age)
Trans/coolant/oil flushes

ok, so the brakes are on, the ball joints are in, the tierod ends are in, and the alignment is complete. the rear toe on both were way out, and the front camber, and toe on both were way out. now everything is kosher, and now the wheel is straight going down the road, and no more brake pulsation. :-D The intake is on now too. great sounds. check out the tierod picture. see something cool about these Japanese parts?

oh, yeah it's 555

it's all about connections ;)
though I'm already at $800 into my car on just maintenance and the price of the car itself :(

for the average joe, yeah 3k would be low for it.

take out a loan :-D !
Yeah, the loan value on these cars is around 2700.. ^^ Or atleast they were when I bought mine with 160,000.. My bank dude was like "Wow, is it really worth that much?" I told him, well, actually to the right people it's worth nearly double in that shape. *mine's body is very straight and the undercarriage is perfect, needed an engine rebuild though, it spun a rod bearing shortly after seafoaming.. :P Yeah, when you "clean the oil system.." and it's super grungy, theres a possability you'll clog something else, while the crap is flowing through the oil passages... Seafoam does it job for sure.. almost a little too well......

oops sorry for the h/j, but yeah, if your banker doesn't mind the car not being 10 years old or less, a loan may not be a bad answer.

and you could always tell them you're buying tile flooring for your kitchen :-D

Banks loan a lesser percentage of the total every year the car is old. I doubt you'd get anything for it, but you could try a personal loan or something, though the rate might not be good. Then again, with the pathetic Fed we have hopelessly dropping the rate out of desperation and a lack of ideas, it may not be bad.

yeah that's what i was hinting at, the car is worth so little that it truly wouldn't matter what kind of small load it was, you wouldn't have to even disclose that you are purchaseing a car.

most banks will loan as much as 25K on a personal loan/whatever you want to call it... based on credit of course

I've pretty darned good credit FINALLY, but my banks still very stingy. :P I can walk in and pick up a $3,500 school loan with deferred payments, but if it comes to cars or home repairs, they're like, "Welllll, here's the thing, we'd like to lend you the funds, buuut... Do you really need this (insert fun thing here)?

And I haven't had a late payment in years. Heck, it took four months to get the loan to buy my engine rebuild kit... It was all forged and badness, but still...

Yeah, I think the loan value on these cars is probably null now, the car being as old as it is; is likely to be a cash only purchase.. That is unless you buy it with a personal funds loan with the car as collateral. Banks dislike giving loans for autos with 100k miles or 10 years old AND hate giving loans on cars over 15.

I had 7k saved and my bank still wouldn't let me buy a 1968 Shelby 350 for $25,000... I was like you bastards, it's a good price and they were like, "hey, the cars wayyy too old and we couldn't sell it at auction for half that..." apparently they're not car people.
