You have to remember that too much power can be a very bad thing for a FWD vehicle on a slippery surface. Plus if it has extremely crappy street tires, that would put it down also.
BTW, awesome pics & congrats on pulling out 3rd with a low power car!!! As was said before, "traction wins these events".

That alone should take you out of a race.

Awesome pics. I think the downforce from that roof-rack is what gave you such an advantage
A rental Aveo..... not exactly the most fun way to rally, but certainly one of the cheapest
El cheapo economy tires on it probably have better off-road traction than the sportier tires most other cars come with.

93 Touring Wagon (EJ20G 5spd Swap) -- Finally back and running strong as ever!
05 Outback 2.5XT 5spd -- Now the wife can have her SUV and get in on the turbo Legacy goodness at the same time.

Haha
For the next one I'm taking off the roof rack, and removing the rear seats and trunk carpet and possibly my non-functioning a/c. Maybe even the door cards. I was a solid 4 seconds behind the top times and I definitely don't have a surplus on power.
Yeah that Aveo definitely turned better times than at least one STi.
