Oh, yeah... I forgot you're up in Canadia
NYC is not pleasant in summer, esp. w/ a black car & black interior...spent a lot of $$ keeping the AC running, but it's worth it.
Nice, now you have lots of room for another radiator and AWIC!

on a side note. once i fire up the motor, i will be opening up the rear of the tranny to try and get the awd working again in the next few days.

ugh. ive been waiting for like two weeks for my buddy to get my bov flange cut and my intake tube to be made.
oh yeah, im installing an 04 wrx tmic, which is kind of a bitch, but its all fitting now.
when i am about to start it up for the first time, i need to get oil pressure in the motor first, what do i unplug to stop the fuel pump? do i need to remove the back seat or something?

Yeah, you need to crank the motor over a bit to circulate some oil in there before you actually fire it up. Unplug the coil pack, and there are fuses that will kill the ECU and fuel pump. Or, actually get at the fuel pump and unplug it to be safe.
I've only got wagons, so the fuel pump is easy to get at
I would also have all this ready to go RIGHT when you pour the oil in. I would pour the oil in just a minute before cranking, that way at least the drivers side head might have a bit more oil than usual.
I figure it may take a full 5 quarts to fill up at first? anyways, it will certainly take a good bit more than a usual oil/filter change. after some cranking with no spark or fuel going in there, fire it up and break it in. full cold to operating temp. I like to break in 4-choke motors like this guy,

my 2-smokes, are another story, little different on break-in.

started it up last night, fired up first time after priming.
runs great but i think i need a new battery. i have a brand new alternator so i think its gotta be the battery.
motor runs so smooth and the idle is solid.
so far so good.

Awesome rebuild! Good to hear.
I am in the same boat with the AWD. Be great to hear how it goes. I was going to try this if I see damage to the drum. I have a funny feeling my solenoid is just messed up. Now I just need to get ahold of the rear section of the tranny so I have some parts I can swap around when it is all apart.
