I have shift installed and I just installed Dirt 2 and I think Dirt 2 is far better if you ask me..

I have a Logitech Momo wheel and still no matter what I do it feels like the damn car never wants to turn.. I have a few nice cars in the game but I just got pretty tired of playing after hitting lvl 20 or so.

I never finished shift either. Got to the world tour tier and lost interest. But that's a lot further into the game than I got with dirt 2.

Well for me what happened was the car started to become really difficult to control once I got all the upgrades on it. I think this was my fault though because of my driving style. I drifted most of the corners to some extent and it worked great until the other racers began to get harder.

The Toyota Corolla AE86 I started out with became absolutely undriveable once I got it fully upgraded. It had like 700lbs of torque and only like 350hp and I couldn't get the stupid thing to drive in a straight line.

The one thing I hated about that game and all NFS games with drift courses was on the drift courses the car suddenly is able to drift at the slightest turn of the wheel when you can hardly get the thing sideways in a normal race. That was just stupid. Killed any realism the game had right there.

wow glad i'm not alone on the AE86 I maxed mine out and it's hard to control and I too looked at my power levels and said WTF.. I remember in the GT1 game on PS1 I maxed out a car with a cheat memory card and I got some really weird number.. something like 90 Hp and 1000 Ft.lb I could spin the tires all the way to 4th gear.

the nice thing about NFS shift is some of the cars it has but I've just had no desire to play it.. Plus I don't want to take my frustration out and break my momo wheel because the damn cars don't want to turn.

in Dirt 2 I finally hit level 18 Not sure how Dirt 1 is.

Are you sure it's not the wheel? I read that these racing games were designed only to work right with one type of wheel. One brand of wheel or one specific model. For instance they said the Logitech G25 (I think that's what it is) is designed to work with Gran Turismo and the Xbox wheel or something was designed to work with NFS Shift and Forza. I'm not sure on the exact wheels/games combos but that's what made me decide not to buy the $250 racing wheel I wanted for a long time. I figured I'm not spending that much money on a wheel that isn't going to function properly on every racing game.

Bioshock was another one I couldn't get into lol. I just got battlefield last night and me and a couple friends lanned it up at his house all night. Pretty fun game but it has a few things that piss me off.

Exactly, I was too cheap too. I kept saying I was going to buy it for months and then finally the other day it was on sale on Steam 33% off so I couldn't say no and you get to try the new medal of honor beta out early.

We must have completely different tastes because I didn't care for Fallout 3 either! Way too much maintenance. I always ran out of ammo on that game and it had more glitches than you can shake a stick at.

fallout 3 does have some glitches but it's not bad
