My friend told me princess auto sells it. I have been kind of doubtful of air bubbles, but you know what I will get that tool and do exactly what you said with high hopes that it works.

BTW check out your PM's on TSC please :)

yea...this sounds like air...air gets trapped and likes to stay in your heater core...get the bleeder bucket and put it on the rad. cold...warm up and wait for the bubbles to stop.....did this in a jeep and it took a good 45 mins to get all the air out....besides air tends to make temp fluctuate up and down rather than a dying pump wont cool as well period! just my 2 cents/experience :smt033

You know what, this is really weird. I put the clip under the rad cap valve so the system won't pressurize, but what I am noticing is there is no coolant in the upper hose as it seems when it warms up?! I can squeeze the hose completely shut. With the cap on, I am pretty sure it is the same thing, just the hose is pressurized so I can't squeeze it shut!

Where is all the coolant going once warm?

2 motors and the exact same issues! The engine fully warms up, and once it hits the 201F mark the fans kick on but obviously they won't do anything, it appears there is no coolant at the top probably creating a huge air lock.

Any ideas wtf is going on here? Could it be the rad? It was replaced though keep in mind. Could it be my heater core still have stop leak in it from a while ago, and when it gets hot it opens up parts of the core?

Mind boggling for me, and it definitely affects the performance of the car!

what the fack...... Burped it barely any bubbles came up, and level stayed pretty consistent. Let the fans cycle like 5 times, during the last cycle plugged the funnel removed it and replaced with cap. Drove around woot car drives really smooth, and responsive. Stop, shut off car, come back out later, restart, drive around till warmed up again, fans kick on, FANS STAY ON!! car sluggish and ERIC IS VERY VERY ANGRY!!!!!!!!

So just to get everyone on the same page 2 motors exact same issue, 3 thermostats on the last motor, new rad, rad hoses. Only thing original that is still tied to this engine is the heatercore......

Why is this thread here to begin with? I added stop leak to the car a LONG time ago and I think it clogged a bunch of shit up.

Are you getting heat from your heater vents? Normal heat? Feel the hoses coming out of the firewall from the heater core, are they both hot?

Definitely have good heat coming out of the vents. Haven't checked that though.

After looking at this I do firmly believe it is the heatercore. It appears that the coolant that the thermostat sees goes through the heatercore first. If the heatercore was clogged up, it would restrict that flow therefore the thermostat will close up as soon as the COLD coolant in the rad circulates by. But when the car is sitting idling the rad is hot since there is no air flowing through the rad. Therefore when the thermostat opens there is hot coolant rushing by and less air blowing through via the fans then when driving.

Either way all that is left to this cooling system puzzle is the heater core!
