33 KW (45 PS), 986 ccm, 4 Zylinder

but this radiator is smaller then Corsa B 1,0 Radiator which i used for the awic.

The gauge is reading about 2/3 up ( compared to halfway before)

anyone else experience this with a AWIC>?

It shouldn't have gone up that much, or so I would think. How thick was the AWIC exchanger again?

I did not notice any change in the engine temp gauge when I put my exchangers on. The only thing I did notice was that the fans will run a little longer/faster with the AC during the summer. There's a secondary switch in the AC pressure switch on the drier that is causing this due to the higher pressures likely caused be not enough cooling. This only happens in the summer during the day. At night, I don't notice this.

OK, I figured out what is up, and it's not the AWIC.

What was the problem?

You must modify your AWIC Waterpump.

The Pump output is normally low (28watts) when the ignitions switch is ON, and changed to high (50 watts)
when the throttle opening exceeds 80% as shown below.

the original waterpump is very good.

15l/min or 4,0 US gal. / min

50W high
20W low

you must modify the waterpump, that the waterpump only pumps in high Mode with 50W
so the water would be recirculate faster and the water is coolder.

My pump is one from a Ford Mustang/lightning with an AWIC, and it only has one mode.
Here in the US, we never had the AWIC, so everything we do is custom.

Hey I can get my hands on a radiator from a Corsa B 1.4l. Do you know if they are the same or even remotely close to the 1.0 radiators?

this thread kinda makes me want to redo my awic heat exchanger. I just put a 91 talon tsi a/c condenser in,as a cooler core its a little tight between the frame and radiator but its the same length as the radiator but a tad bit smaller in height.
I have noticed the awic core is running a lot cooler, the pump I'm running is a shure flow 40psi. 2.8gpm diaphragm pump,
awic coolers can be ran with a vf-11 you will have to put a 45 degree tube between the turbo outlet and the awic j pipe.

my legacy must be the same as yours then LegT91. i have a wagon. imported from germany in 05, up to norway. it was in pretty good shape. do you salt your roads down there? we are heavy on it :(

one thing ive been pondering on. how do you troubleshoot your awic? cant find anything on the net. if something on it isnt working, how would one know? looking at the boost only? knocking?
