Damn that's hot. I can't tell you cut that front lip in half. How much did you get the parts for and where?

Yeah, just to let you know, I might do some or all of that stuff too. Depends on price though. I should save my money for moving out...but it looks so awesome!
Are you going to make a grill?

Do you know if any of those parts are on the car stock, like the outback sideskirts? Or whether it matters if it's sedan or wagon?
If they're stock it would make it a lot easier to find cheaper from a part out car. On ebay there's a set of outback skirts for $140 plus $38 shipping!

outback skirts are stock. here are the prices it cost me to make that car look like that.
front lip brand new ($50)
side skirts used ($20)
rear lip (free) no one in the prelude community wants theirs just ask them for it.
paint job, ($40 paint + $8 thinner)
HLPV spray gun ($20)
Bondo ($12)
Labour to make all the rust go away (free) did it myself.
this was my first attempt to paint, weld in new metal, bondo chop-up lips/skirts etc.
im going to make a grill as well, still deciding on how i want it to look.
BTW: Those gold rims are going TEAL!

wow you really have done a very good job in all aspects from paint to body work. in my opinion it is one of the top cars in the exterior department.
teal...hmmmm

Yeah teal, I can't quite picture that.
I'll have to do some much more in depth searching. The prices I found were more like $140 side skirts, $65 front lip, $50 rear lip things. Too much money but I like your prices. Where did you get them? I think I'll hit up some forums.
Bondo was for the body and not the lips/skirts right?

I just tried signing up for subaruoutback.org forum about 25 times and probably 5 times at work earlier and it will NOT let me in. They have a ton of ads on that forum, try to get you to pay for the membership and use not only image verification but also "type in only capital letters in this phrase". It keeps telling me the text I enter from the image is wrong which it's not. It's in quotes and asks you to enter the text that's in quotes. I've entered it every possible way and it won't work. Making me angry.

It's nice to see a satin car that isn't obviously done with spray cans.

I posted a WTB ad on the Prelude board and the member that responded says preludes never had rear valences. I showed him a picture of them on your car and everything.

Preludes never had rear valences like that. The only thing similar are Mugen rear valences. Only accords I mentioned above had rear valences like this.

It is a complete skirt, just the skirt has been cut in half and acts like a valence.

I see, the clears that up. Did it fit before cutting the center out? I still can't decide if I really like the valences or not. I'd prefer an entire lip but if nothing else I'd really just like to get the side skirts. Might have to take a trip up to kent or something as there are no newer cars in junkyards around here.

look like the front lips of a newer legacy could work too after some trimming

This should be posted as sticky since it is the only exterior mod I had seen so far that looks good

Nice! I love the flat black, gives it such a sleeper look. When the paint begins to go on my 92 it'll be flat blacked as well.

You serious? The only exterior mod that looks good? Better take some more time browsing then. Definitely a good exterior mod thread but certainly not the only one to mod the outside of a 1st gen.

I heart this car!! Seems like it went the same direction I plan on going (fix all the rust, replace fenders, repaint flat black), love it man keep up the good work!
