Very sexy! I might get that lip one of these days. Looks great!

Get those windows tinted and she would be perfect!

Well, each does it's job in their own respects.. I went mechanicals and you.. Yours is quite clean on the exterior, I know you have less rust to deal with up there, but OMG, wow, the paint is in fine shape too. I'm afraid my front fenders aren't pretty, but I did plan ahead and grabbed some extras.

I really like what you've got going on and the wheels are quite sharp too. BRAVO!

Now if I could only get my car that clean visually.. :P

Its true, we don't have salted roads...YET. They're talking about it this winter though. The car only has 147K on it, not sure about the motor. It has some mechanicals. ej20g, 06 tmic k&n, 3" TB, MBC. Waiting on Rob for the ecu conversion.

Yeah but with a tint i couldn't show off my seats!

Actually its on my to do list. I'm also looking for a Nardi wheel w/ red stitching. Missed a mint one for $150 that I'm kicking myself for not getting.

Did some custom work

Post by Florin1 »

So I've done some custom work today. I'll post them here since i don't have a build thread for this car.
Basically i didn't like where the turn indicators were located so i moved some things around.

I went to the junk yard and picked up some pigtails from a post face lift legacy.
Image

New pigtail on left. Notice the extra wire
Image

Its not plug and play however. Here is a picture of the back of the housing. Its a 3 tab vs the new 4 tab.
Image

So it was time to make a stencil.
Image

Traced it on the back of the housing, and Dremeled out the new hole.
Image
Image

Did some wiring. I pulled the original turn signal harness and spliced it into the parking harness. Than spliced it into the new pigtail.
Image
Image

With the parking and turn signal relocated it was time to get down to the real reason for the change. Sanded and clearcoated the lenses. Here is a before/after.
Image

After, with the diffuser still in.
Image

Diffuser out. I would've left it like this if i was gonna keep the turn signal in the original location.
Image

Gutted, and cutout for my projectors. (Audi TT)
Image

Projector in, test fit.
Image

Lens on test fit.
Image

All there is left is to wire in the fog lights, and epoxy the projectors.

To be continued...

Bump. Got some more things done (1. almost finished the foglights, they are wired and working, but the 3000K hid's aren't "yellow" enough for me, so i ordered some of the "GT Yellow" film online. 2. Put on a hood scoop, turned out even better than on my 94 :-D, and 3. I added some Rally Armour flaps) I'll add close up pictures in this post later this week, but for now I'll jump to some pictures from yesterday. SNOW.

I see what you mean about the fogs not being "yellow enough". Looks like you had a blast and I plan on taking some snow play pictures myself this winter, I notice the "yellow" of the fogs seems to fill out the top half more than the bottom but still looks alot better than my set-up.

lol, i'm jealous. I've kinda had an itch to get "spotted". But nasioc usually only posts impreza/wrx/stis, which makes perfect sense in retrospect.

Ok, time for some updated pictures...

I liked MikeMeyagi's idea on painting the headlight housing black, so i STOLZ it! I took it a little further. His car is still cooler though. :p Below are some pictures of what and how i did it.

Popped my headlights off and threw them in the oven. 190* for ~ 15-20 min.
Image

Cut out the little breather nipple and metal reflector bracket, and light bulb hole, to make room for my projector. Also scuffed the housing w/ 3m scotch brite pad.
Image

Took projector apart, and painted the metal flat black. Stock vs finished
Image

Painted housing, and projector.
Image

Painted housing, and test fit of the projector.
Image

Decided to do my turn signals as well.
Image
Image

Projector line before i put the headlight lens back on. Nice and sharp.
Image

With lens on. Line is still good, just a little diffused. I don't mind.
Image

Let there be light.
Image

Finished product.
Image
Image

Side note. The headlights projectors are from an Audi, as are the fog lights.
Fog lights i finally finished too, they are wrapped in a yellow "GT" film.
Fogs and heads are both HID. NOICE!
