So can I use the earlier model drop links from the donor turbo legacy on my 92 n/a legacy? my n/a legacy has the newer lateral links will the older ones swap on without any problem? I was planning on doing my AWD swap this weekend! and I don't want to tear everything apart and find out it wont work.

I'm not really following you.

You should be able to use whatever lateral links, drop links, & sway bar you want, as long as you use everything from that car. Keep in mind the lateral links from the FWD rears are different. The caveat is that with the stock drop links, they are meant to receive an anti-sway bar with a bushing that goes through the U-shaped drop link fitting. The C-style end links are meant to bolt up to a flat metal part on the anti-sway bar. You could probably use the c-style endlinks with the "bushing" anti-sway bar.

I'm not sure I answered your question. Please list again for me what exactly your donor car is, and what exactly your current car that is to receive the parts....awd/fwd, year, etc. That should help clarify things.

Okay lets see if I can clear this up. My legacy is a 92 n/a and the donor car is a 92 ss. Now what I'm doing is stealing the awd from the 92ss into my 92 n/a which is fwd. My 92 l has no rear sway bar and has the lateral link suspension where as the 92ss has the older style rear suspension. I just wanted to make sure it would swap onto my 92 l since there different.

The simple answer is yes, as long as you move all the AWD components from the 92 turbo to your 92 non-turbo, including rear sub-frame, lateral links, drop links, and anti-sway bar, you're good.

I don't know if I'd say it's better. It's just a different design and cheaper to manufacture.

Okay I ran into a problem, I hope someone can help me figure this out! I tried installing the Kartboy shifter bushing on the 2.5RS trans and they don't seem to fit right. They are from turn in concepts, and there for the 2.5RS trans but when I put them on and tighten it up there is a bunch of slop and the nut/metal plate tightens up before it gets a chance to put any pressure on the bushings! its weird! I don't get it, do I need an extra washer or something to take up the space? any suggestions would be nice.

Thanks, Brian

What did you end up doing? I ran into this issue on my Legacy as well with the Kartboy bushings. I ended up getting some larger metal washers and used them as spacers.

BTW, if you'd like, email me I've been traveling for work a lot and don't get on the bbs.

I grabbed some fender washers to as that was one of my ideas, but I found a rubber washer that was thick enough to take up the space I just hope it lasts. lol thanks for your help josh!

I also ordered some Kartboy Rear Subframe Outrigger Bushings, but the top bushing doesn't fit, only the bottom one does! has any one found some that do fit for our cars?

I also found out that the donor car has a LSD diff! yay! lol

The swap is now complete! After a few late night and a lot of hard work its done! Only a few problems! The speedo cable isn't working and the backup light done work, also I have yet to figure out the exhaust system as the donor car was a turbo and the piping is to big to fit the n/a header! Many thanks to the people who helped! Happy New Year!
