Just make sure your mating surface is nice and flat on the pan.

Just compared my two pans. This one looks like it was over tightened and the bolt holes are raised a lot

I got the engine in and it started right up. Now it gets to temperature for a few minutes and then overheats. I filled it all the way up and it just fills the overflow. I am thinking it could be the aftermarket thermostat or my cap. I will replace both today.

Yeah don't use aftermarket thermostats. They're not designed like the OEM one there's threads about this. If you compare an aftermarket one from a parts store to the OEM one the difference is astounding. I suggest the same with the cap.

Ok thanks. I bought everything when I started the build before I read about the thermostat.

So I got a Subaru Thermostat then a 13lb cap. Got it all on and filled up. Started right up and got to temperature and stays steady. I let it sit for a while and then drove her around still doing great. I have a slight hesitation but I will deal with that. She did need a bath though. Meet Sad Panda my white and black (unless she is sudsing) TLeg.

How would you know if your injectors were not connected correctly? SHe drives fine but under acceleration sometimes it stutters.
