I'm pretty sure I don't need a new alternator, it seems to be the exact same problem than this guys:

http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51863

All he had to do at the end is clean his grounds.

(sorry for moving a thread from electrical I had no clue it was gonna end up being the issue)

Well hopefully cleaning the grounds helps. Let us know if that solves your problems.

Nothing has been found at the shop.

That said I have done a lot of cleaning with seafoam the last months and finally changed my oil, which came out pitch black, so the product must have been working...Car running smooth so far!

Solved!

Alt took a crap. replaced it, but it was a separate issue.

I found out that my black cable for d-check mode were still plugged, so I could get code when pluging in green cables for u-check...unplugged blacks and got my u-check running!...duh!!!

Code 32, oxygen sensor. Got a bosch replacement, idle is back to normal.

Thanks Josh!

Not so much, my car went out of juice two days ago...came home found out I snapped the tightening blot from the alternator, no biggie got it replaced, but since I got spooked again, I did the seat belt diagnosis (as I suddenly remember you talking about it), turns out code 31. I started another tread in electrical, my idle still goes a little wild a times and I saw people with the same of issues in electrical. Still the new o2 gave some of that ompf back to the car :)

I'll check out your thread in the electrical forum as I go through all the new posts. I've been away for a while and need to catch up ;)
