Plugged in the comp to see how the reading were doing and I'm still getting randomness. The car seems to be hesitating a little more under acceleration. I got on it tonight to see how the boost was doing and it limited it to 5 psi for just a bit then allowed it to go higher a few miles later. I didn't have my comp with me so I could not check for any codes.

Which version of revscan are you using? Latest was 1.100. I wonder if you have a different ECU revision which it wasn't fully developed for... no way to tell what your version is with RevScan from what I recall. EvoScan can tell you though (but of course its not free). The only other difference I can think of offhand is the cable. I used the EvoScan cable with no problem with RevScan/EvoScan. Possibly one of the internal connectors is coming loose in yours? Hard to say.

Are any of the parameter readings correct and constant?

Limiting to 5 PSI sounds like the ECU has dropped into safe mode (octane factor below 25%). The only thing which reduces octane factor is knock.

I am running version 1.100. I can't say about the condition of the wires, I've tested continuity through the connector and it is good all the reading I have are always constant. the weirdest one would be throttle % When at idle it shows random, but works when open, I don't care about that too much cause it seems to work. But other ones such as Barometric pressure and Manifold pressure I don't know if they are right.

I'm tempted to try Evoscan though, it's cheap enough. It works just fine with our cars though? any weird things I should know about with it?

I stoped by Rally Sport Direct to pick up some parts today and asked one of the guys there about it. He's only known a few guys to run it and they had had Evos, so no help there.

The wires in the cable don't all go straight through. There is a usb chip in there which interfaces between the ODB port and the USB port on your PC. Recall you had to install those usb drivers before EvoScan would even recognize the cable.

There is a evoscan thread somewhere on here too with details ;). In there, I posted the latest configuration file I was using for a 94 SS/TW. Last I heard, the EvoScan author included my data file in the evoscan release. This was last summer. Anyways, the datafile I used started off from another user and then I enhanced it. I used a combination of reverse engineering the ECU parameters and conversions from RevScan and other Subaru ODB-I tools on the Internet. It DOES have much better wideband support. Lots of the 'fancy' features you won't be able to use too.

Like RevScan, it has the same parameter resolution issue when you enable too many fields. It's an inherent issue with the slow ODB-I protocol.

If he's got the software on a laptop, you can surely give it a try on your car before purchasing it.
Last time I used EvoScan was v2.6. I believe 2.7 included my data file. The guys there should be able to get the latest version for free.
