You can cut off the ABS ring. I did this when I did my AWD & 5spd conversion. The rear hubs I used were from an ABS equipped car and mine was not. I also had to replace a wheel stud too. The biggest pain was actually getting the ABS wheel sensor out. It had rusted itself to the hub. I had to beat it out with a punch, and then I could cut the tone ring.

There's a few pictures of the hub & ring here.

The LGT brake set up is quite bit heavier than the FHI 4/2 set up. not only in the caliper, but the rotor is massive. That's a good thing to soak up heat and avoid fade, but means you got to get that mass turning when accelerating. Also being able to stay with a 16 wheel with the 4/2 setup means a potential for less rotating mass there too. Having said that, finding 16x7 wheels to get the most out of the 4/2 setup leaves less choices than 17".

For what its worth I'm absently loving the 4/2 with the bbs wheels. Plus the 4/2 setup looks way more boss than the LGT stuff imho.

The 05+ lgt front brakes don't fit under 16" oem wheels. Don't know if there's any aftermarket wheels that'll work. Has to do with how far the LGT calipers protrude up.

If you want to stick to 16" oem wheels, 02-05 WRX fronts and 05+ LGT rears will be the a huge upgrade, and the same rotors as 4/2 pots.
