Post in the market and see if someone will. Otherwise when i get my z4 ecu in next weekend i can send you my ecu just to try. If it works, you can know if thats the problem...

Where did you tap into for fuel pressure?
Unfortunately, it sounds like you've tried and tested everything but the ECU, so yeah that's certainly the next thing I'd try. I'd second posting a WTB in the parts shed.

i tested at the pressure side with everything hooked up.
so i know im doing it right.
and i'll post in the WTB now.
thanks

anyone know the part number for the ecu?
i think i found one but want to make sure its the right one.

There are a couple different part #'s for the turbo Legacy ECU. What's the number and I can tell you if it'll work for the turbo legacy.

hey josh for for the late reply.
i was able to find info in search.

well the ecu got here and guess what?
its not the ecu for me. total bummer.
so i need to do a further inspection/test.
hope its something stupid i forgot to hook up/install.
will report back in a few days since i'll be busy til the weekend or next week.

man i want my wagon back lol
also thanks for all the help everyone.

hey this just came to me.
does it matter where the map sensor is?
and does it matter that its not in the same position/direction?
i relocated the map sensor for the tmic install.
also do subaru use the logic that if it dont see oil pressure it wont give a injector pulse?
been talking to a few of my mechanic friends and are coming up with ideas.
its a long shot but never hurts to ask.
besides those two things im stumped.
next is taking the tmic off and double/triple check everything once again.
will report back when i find something.

No, it shouldn't matter where the MAP sensor is located as long as it is referencing the intake manifold. However, that shouldn't keep the engine from starting.
Oil pressure switch only goes to the dash, no ecu logic.
My recommendation is always go back to basics....double and triple check the wiring between the ECU & injectors and ensure there is enough voltage going to the injectors "during cranking of the engine". The other thing you might want to verify is that the ECU is receiving a "start or crank" signal from the ignition. It's pin B56.10.

ok im about to give up on my wagon.

its driving me insane.
i've tested two ecu's and still the same problem.
have spark but no injector pulse.
so this really makes me think im missing a ground so something when i was putting it back together.
so my next question is do n e one have a good ground pin out for the wagon?
if so can u post or pm me with it.
thanks in advance.

There's a round from the engine harness to the intake manifold, Uses the bolt closest to the firewall (Intake mani to block bolts) on the driver's side. There are grounds on Both frame rails just below the headlights. There's a ground from the transmission to firewall/pitch stop. There's a ground at EACH strut tower that goes to the harnesses. A ground from the NEG terminal of the battery to the shell. Should be a ground on either side of the radio under the shifter surround mounting trim. Should be a ground under both front seats. And whatever is in the trunk, the Fuel Pump ground is in the Trunk.
Now that i think about it, Check the ground in your trunk/hatch

a little update.
finally had time to do some testing.
i have all the power and grounds to the ecu.
i have compression 145-140-130-125
i know its not balanced but its got enough compression to start tho.
still not getting fuel.
and if we spray starting fluid nothing happens.
not even popping sounds from the starting fluid.
i have good spark still.
my buddy knows first hand lol
he got shocked

.
all the grounds are hooked up.
so now im really stumped.
i was even able to get a known good computer from a member in the area.
but its doing the same thing
have spark but no fuel injector pulse.
does n e one know what controls the injector pulse?
also do the TCU have n e thing to do with my problem?

Did you check the fuel pump ground located in the trunk?

I know you said you checking timing, but just to double check, did you use the mark on the back of the crank gear?

well i even pulled the timing cover off the cam gear and lining up the harmonic mark with cam gear mark.
everything is lining up to where it needs to be.
used this for the timing marks

the only other thing i can think of is frying the injectors itself.
since i have tested with a know good ecu.
and also tested all the ground and power points to the ecu and everything is checking out good.
hope to borrow a set of injectors to test also.
will report if i find n e thing new.

Yeah if you followed that, your alignment marks are good.
Let us know what you find out with the injectors.

Is it possible to get the left and right cam sprokets swapped and still get spark? In other words does the engine reference the cam, crank or both sensor at startup.
I'm having a hard time grasping why you wouldn't get something with proper cam timing, spark, starting fluid, and compression.

It should be pretty obvious if you have the correct cam sprockets on as one has bumps on the back of it for the cam sensor and one doesn't.
As for as whether it would still get spark....possibly.

They are also labeled L & R, but it might be worth a quick check. Easy enough to see.

The other day when i did a head gasket on an ej22e i had the cam sprockets on backwards (before torquing everything down) and noticed the pass cam gear was rubbing on the back timing cover. Took it off took the cover off cleaned the crap out of the cover around bolt holes. Put it back on and still rubbed. Took it off again and noticed the cam sensor spots. Pulled the other gear off and flat on back. Compared the two together and the marks for timing are in the same spot. I thought that was interesting.

a little update.
while im going thru the wire diagram's i notice this MPFI Diode.
i really think i blew this diode when i cross the batt terminals.
but i can't seem to locate it in the harness.
i've try searching google but w/o luck.
any one know where this diode might be so i can check it out.

bump any one know where the MPFI Diode is?
seems to be only in the legacy's.
