do turbo legacies share their MAF element with NA legacies? the pick-apart yard near me has MAFs a-plenty, and they can usually be gotten for 10-20 bucks a pop. most legacies their are NA 2.2s between 90-93.

Igg, the BC/BF Legacies came with two MAF sensors: one with an aluminum housing (hot wire element) and one with a black plastic housing (hot film element). Supposedly, all turbos and all early (pre-92) 5-speeds had the hot wire one and all the rest had the hot film, although I've seen counterexamples of each. In any case, if you want a replacement for your sensor, there's a good shot of finding one on a N/A; just look for one with the same housing.

good thing I have a good chance of finding a replacement :D. a day or 2 after I did this, my engine started acting flaky. very boggy, then fine, then boggy... something tells me the MAF didn't like the mod. so I'm back with the screen now and just waiting till I can get to the pick-apart. so yeah. my car didn't like it. be careful, guys.

EDIT: the flakiness was NOT due to a blown MAF. I picked one up at the pick-apart for 10 bucks :D. still had the problem. after swapping out just about everything that effects ignition and spark advance (MAP, MAF, wires, etc) I pulled my knock sensor and it was fux0rd. so that was the issue, and by the looks of it it's been an issue for some time now and would explain all the unpredictability/moodiness I've always bitched about
