I'll chat with you about this offline.

i should be getting my legacy back soon (if all goes well) and i wouldn't have a need for my 91 legacy ecu.
it's got the revtronix chip and if i can find the cables and other things for it.
email me at
choyatchuen@yahoo.com if you are interested. i will donate it for the legacycentral.org cause.

Hi,
I am new here. My name is Oliver I am from Switzerland.
I have some questions about "RobTune".
First, I own a 1990 Legacy GT Wagon with 57000 km. The car is like new and
was never tuned before. I got the car directly from Japan 11 months ago.
I have changed the exhaust (Blitz Muffler). The car has a speed limiter (180 km/h), also is the boost-pressure standart. I life near to the german boarder, and the germans have no speed limit on Highways.
Does your Modification work with an E4-Ecu? I have tried to install an G8-ECU, thats the European Version for Legacy Turbo EJ20. The Engine starts, the car sounds ok, but the Check Engine Light goes on.
The E4-Ecu has a free socket for an Eeprom, also the J1 resistor is there. I tried to install an Eprom from an 1996 Impreza WRX, but the engine does not start.
Sorry for my english.....
Kind regards from Switzerland
Oliver

Welcome to the BBS Oliver.
If Rob doesn't post a reply after a day or two, you may want to send him a PM or email. He's a busy guy and may not get on the bbs all the time.

Still hoping for a chip solution for the EJ22T ECU. I would rather not have to spend money replacing the ECU, converting the spark system and swapping the maf sensor if it wasn't necessary.
That money could be put to better use having the replacement injectors fixed up, buying new o rings and a nicer intercooler.

Based on the history of these ECU's, I wouldn't hold my breath for a chip. The RobTune ECU's really are the best bang for your buck, while still maintaining a stock ECU and the benefits of it.

And the EJ20G ECUs actually seem to run better, from those using them (me included). And you can have it NOW.
And I'll be surprised if the EJ22T chip arrives....not enough buyers to justify the R&D. Rob's busy tuning his LGT, last I heard.

Are the EPROM's still available these days? Are there other tuning solutions for the EJ20G or can something like a WRX ecu be used with something like a COBB ACCESSPORT
I have a MAF, TDO5H 16G and other supporting mods. I have not yet ordered an EJ20G until I know the modification is still available.
Thanks in advance.

Email Rob. The email notifications for any thread replies or PM's is not working right now, so direct email would be my recommendation to check with him.

I have a N/A legacy that i am looking to turbo charge. I've been rebuilding a spare motor in my garage. I've got a set of 2.0tt head that i am going to use along with the intake and a set of 440 injectors. I am wanting to go with rob's ecu but was woundering about if i should go with the 440 or the 550? I also woundering what turbo's are good to use with this setup?

You would probably want to get turbo pistons while you are at it but otherwise I say go for it. You would only have to add maybe 8 wires to the existing harness.

I got turbo piston but wasn't goin to use them becasue the compression would be down in the sevens. The heads will lower my compression in the mid eights where I want it to be.

I think the injectors will depend on the tune you get from rob, but I'd probably suggest going with the 550's....but that's me.

Oh I had forgotten about the head volume. Yeah I think you are on the right track then

Found this in the June 2012 issue of Super Street in the Reader's Rides section and had to share.
