So I've been doing some research on this standalone. I have an EJ20G Base Map, still have to figure out some of the wiring and find some 02+ wrx coils. I'm confused about the injector wiring. I am not too sure how it'd control 2 injectors off 1 wire. Maybe im reading it wrong...

Looks like it can do batch fire but it does have 4 outputs so it can do sequential on a 4 cylinder.

Batch fire means you wire your injectors so that more than one injects at the same time. On a Subaru, you would have the right bank of injectors tied together and the left bank of injectors tied together with one wire from each back to the ECU.

On something like a V8, same idea, you could run 4 injectors on a left bank back to the ECU and the other 4 on a right bank wire back to the ECU. In fact, if you had a V8 and wanted to use that ECU you have, it would be able to use 4 injector outputs with 2 injectors on each wire to fire all 8. It would just fire two at a time.

Since you have a 4 cylinder, I presume you can wire each injector to the ECU as factory and run it in sequential fuel mode, which means each injector fires independently of the other three.

The reason batch fire is even possible, is that it is impossible to fire the injector directly into the cylinder while the valve is open. Some or all of the fuel injected always just remains atomized above the valve until the next intake stroke when it all gets sucked into the cylinder. So batch fire works on that principle, since multiple injector driver circuitry is usually a bit more expensive they only include 2 or 4 drivers and just let you run batch fire so the fuel will sit atomized in the intake tract until the next intake valve event for that cylinder occurs.

Do you have an EJ20G base map for that ECU or for something else? I wouldn't mind checking it out if you do. I can help out with any questions you have about tuning or the standalone itself too. I have lots of experience with ECU design and tuning theories.

You can get more charge time at high RPM with individual coils, that is true.

Just PM me or ask here if you have any questions about it as you go, I am happy to help. I like this sort of thing.

I would love to see your EJ20G basemap for my own purposes if you don't mind sharing. Could you email it to gabe (at) thecornman (dot) com?

You have to pay attention to that sognal wire tho, there are gonna be 2 wireson the fcd for the signal wire. One will be to ecu and one will be from the sensor

Is there a link to all of this? I just tried searching it but wasnt able to find anything. Thanks kimo for asking about how to install it. Im ready to have it on so that I dont have to be worried about fuel cut when i want to boost at 12 or 14. Is a fmic worth having worth the td04? Do I have to remove my entire head unit to access the ecu for the fcd? Kimo I was thinking if that were so, maybe I should finally buy a head unit and some speakers to put in the old girl.

You need a wideband! Been telling you that for months lol. Before anything else. Blbetter safe than sorry. Don't bother with a fmic with a td04. Waste of money and its going to introduce lag and pressure drop in the system.

You will see some pressure drop but if you have an mbc you can compensate. Fmic was my first upgrade when i did my turbo swap. I have to build another fcd gor my car soon. Ive heard the gc8 fmic kit by cx racing fits but with some modification. Search on that. And as always if you havr any questions im always available for some help

Well it's almost 6 AM. Woke up super early this morning and could not get back to sleep so i've been doing some research. I'm considering buying the next 2.5 crank that shows up at pick n pull... I was just going thru subytech's rebuild thread and saw that he has the same compression issue i have. It's quite irritating...

An update, I just did a complete 4.11 swap on my girlfriend's brother's car because his clutch and trans went out and we couldn't find a 3.90 cable trans anywhere. My payment was a little p.o.s. 1991 Chevy S10 that runs pretty good. hasn't been tabbed in 2 years so he has to run it thru inspection and get the title (seller went to jail before gf's bro made last payment.) Inspection is on Dec 10th. Once i get the title and the exhaust fixed the subaru is getting parked in the garage. I'm going to start sanding and some body work and start gathering parts for my 91 front end. Buy some paint, watch alot of videos, and go to work.

Also I might have some side work coming up soon, 2004 wrx with a bad rod knock, friend is going to buy a crate motor for it so i'm going to keep the original long block. Maybe that'll help fund my stroker build. Or maybe the whole deal will fall thru, who knows...

After thinking about the rear mud flaps for the rest of last nights evening, I came to a conclusion as to what i was going to do about the rears. Bought some aluminum flat stock and made some brackets for the inside of the wheel well. Finished my rear flaps an hour ago and am about 98% happy. One flap looks a little crooked, i'll probably fix it in a year or something like that.

Also, I don't like that on the new photobucket layout when you hover over the image it doesn't give you the option to copy link right away.

I didn't either so I reverted back to the classic layout and reported the issue to photobucket. Hopefully they fix it but I haven't heard back from them.

I wonder if I need brackets for the insides of mine. I don't remember but I thought mine mounted all the way to the inside...

Yours are also made of a more stiff material. You remember looking at these, they're flimsy as hell. They also are off an 03 bugeye wagon.
