ill see how it runs. I chose stock everything, hopefully the chip can still work with a td04 and 440 injectors if I do it.

Oh, you haven't bought it yet.....

To run the 440's and TD04 you need Stage 2 with the JECS MAF.

Trying to run Stage 2 on stock stuff would not work, it's designed for the JECS MAF and 440's.

Swapping turbos with the chips is one thing, but not having the correct injectors or MAF for the chip is out of the question.

However, I think you can just send it back to Revtronix for a re-flash once you get the upgrade parts. I think the reflash fee is $50 but I could be wrong. Check with them and see.

No, I did buy it, but I chose stock injectors, and stock turbo. I have the MAF sensor, and IC I am about to install. The stock turbo runs lower CFM so probably won't produce alot of boost at higher speed consistently, but the low end should be pretty good. Either way I will try it and probably just run in normal mode with wrx IC and the jecs maf.

As long as the chip you get is tuned for the injectors you have and the MAF you will use, then it should run OK with the stock turbo. Using the IC will keep you a bit safer.

Do NOT run more than 12 PSI without an intercooler, especially with the VF11. That thing starts to blow really hot above 12 PSI.

Dude, just take your time and install the intercooler. A blown motor isn't worth the week of more boost without an intercooler.

Well, I was finally able to do some WOT runs with the decreased spark plug gap. It SEEMS like it might be a little faster, but I can't be positive. The one thing I did notice however, was the fact that my gas mileage increased from 21 MPG to 23 MPG. This was with me driving just how I normally do....'spirited.' Lol.

So my conclusion: slight power gain, but noticeable increase in gas mileage.

word, funny as i just checked in on this thread. and last night i just changed my gaps.

when i first got the car a few years ago i did the plugs. i thought, instead of 42 i'll put them at 46-48 under my theory of longer spark = better ignition. that's when i knew shit about cars and i was bone stock.

so i thought to myself the other day, shit, i have a big gap on this higher boost. i completely forgot.

so anyways, they were coming in closer to 50. wow.
down to 30-32 they went. i also noticed oil on the top of one plug that wasnt very tight.

so, they all got regapped and properly torqued. the result was excellent.

no hesitation, it revs up quicker and feels way more responsive in boost. i used to have this miss climbing hills. it's gone too.

i'm interested to see if my mileage goes up. ive been seeing 360-375 km per tank. i think thats around 220miles.

let's see...

It's my understanding that with a stronger coil you should be able to run the wider gap without problems when boosting and such. What do you guys think? If a guy put a neon coil on his car or the msd coil could you then open the gaps back up and see some advantage?

Hmmm that would probably work! The maximum that I would have them gapped at though is the stock gap, if, and only if, you decide to use the MSD coil made for a Neon.

I just noticed that Revtronix listed a SSM-USB adapter cable for $50 on their website. I already have one that I bought with EvoScan, but IIRC that one was like $75 or something.

Has anyone heard from Revtronix lately? I posted a message on their forum asking about an update back on 8/10 and haven't seen anything yet.

Yeah, I posted a question this morning and Mike answered it already.

Ah, maybe I paid $50 for the cable and $25 for the EvoScan SW.

thats nice for the cable ,but before i ordered it need to know wich program to use?? they offer the cable but no program? thats strange?

No, their program is a free download. Keep in mind that it is very basic and not intended for commercial release. However, it is still very useful.

The cable should work with the more fancy SW like EvoScan. I've been using my EvoScan cable with the Revtronix SW and also a couple other little programs that I was playing around with.

Sure... others have documented it here on this forum/others. Just google search for subaru SSM usb cable.

I personally preferred to spend the $ for the USB EvoScan cable. I've successfully used it with both EvoScan and RevScan (revtronix custom data logging software). The USB stuff is nice, since it'll work with any modern Windows OS... unlike the serial/parallel stuff which is dos/etc.
