Mary kate and ashley olson. Which ever one doesnt have the eating disorder... Until i was 12 i didnt know that was 2 people. I always thought it was mary, kate, and ashley.

Don't the two of them look nearly identical anyway? How can just one of them have an eating disorder? Or is the other one just not getting treatment for hers?

There's a slight difference in appearance. I could judge better if they were naked.

this is another thing that irks me about our culture. We have this stupid 18 rule where everyone is like oh you cant look at this girl she's not 18 yet, blah blah. then the day a girl turns 18 for some apparent reason it's okay for a dirty old man to be attracted to some little ass girl. It's rediculous. Why is this even acceptable? Does anyone else feel this way?

Hehe seriously, I do agree. The whole reason for the rule is because supposedly, a girl is not totally aware of what she's doing until she's 18. I say bullshit. So you mean to tell me that a girl who's 17 years and 11 months old is still a sweet little innocent girl inside, and the moment she turns 18, she's now completely ready for absolutely any guy that comes her way? I say if the girl is completely sure of what she wants then so be it. She's destined to be a trashy whore anyway, why hold her back?

I think it's crap. Maturity is mostly a mental thing. It happens somewhere in early adulthood but it's not the same for everyone. Some people are never ready for the big issues in life. The difficulties with sex are mostly the negative results as everyone knows such as unplanned children, std's and such but that can happen between people of any age. Children (young adults) can't be forever be protected from the consequences of their decisions.

It's a true abortion of justice to prosecute a 'man' of 18, 19 or 20 for doing a 'girl' of, say, 17 1/2 or 16 because mommy found out that her little girl likes doing the nasty and can't deal with it so she blames this other person for enticing her. Where's the foul? What, a 'girl' can't handle the supposedly deep issues associated with sex, puuhhleeasse. I think everyone knows when someone is taking advantage of a younger person and common sense can tell you when it's wrong. Girls mostly want guys in and around their own age anyway, what's a few years matter? Now, if some low-life scumbag took advantage of my daughter and got her pregnant then there should be trouble but if nothing comes of it chalk it up to a learning experience. I don't think they give girls enough credit.

One thing though, good breeding is important. You don't want your daughter or son shacking up with some low-life cuz she/he is in the thralls of animal passion. I guess it comes down to parenting in the end. Am I wrong to think this way?

The problem is that most parents suck and don't have the sense like I do to say, "I'm too f'n selfish for that kind of shit." So the government has to step in and since determining maturity level is at best difficult and resource consuming, they're forced to come up with an age they think fits the average (or is completely arbitrary) for maturity. More of the government telling us what to do and 'keeping us safe' while removing some freedom - two mutually exclusive concepts as freedom must always be defended from inner as well as outside forces. The problem there is that in order to have a society (especially to the degree of interdependence we have) the idea of absolute freedom is impossible as is the unwieldly concept of a true democracy. In order to help preserve the society rules like this age consent need to be enacted so that there's some control over tax-payer responsible problems like STDs, teenage pregnancy, crime, child exploitation, etc that are all sometimes associated with no limits.

Is 18 an outdated age? I believe so, but there still should be a limit. It's like the seatbelt law, for example, on the one hand I say so what if someone doesn't want to wear one? But on the other I don't want my taxes paying for the extra treatment incurred by someone who is uninsured medically or is insured and subsequently affects MY rates because they were more seriously injury due to not wearing one. It's a tough compromise and sometimes I wish I could just build a self-suffient house and steam car and live alone somewhere writing, building wood boats, and talking to myself. But then where would I get tires? Dammit!
