911 Turbo? this is rediculous! The Porsche 911 Turbo is an 3,6 liter twinturbo, Tiptronic, 4WD and has 420 HP @6.000/min, max Torque of 560Nm @ 2.700/min. 0-100km/h(62mph) in 4.2 sec.
I really doubt that u'd beat that one!

I need about 9,5-10 liter per 62 miles. But it's no problem to drive it at 13! :D

theres no way you would even do 12's without engine management NICO, low 13's maybe, unless you are running 20+psi boost and slamming all your gearchanges and doing 1.7 60fters.

hasn't you gone through 3 or 4 tranny's in the past couple of years nico? :)

I don't see why people need all that much hp, I am happy with the stock 160chp in my SS. It's more than enough to pass slower moving cars, even when the slower moving cars are going 80-90mph. The stock hp numbers are enough to run at Autobauhn speeds, which are good enough for me :D ...

OK, lets come up with a list of realistic mods that would need to happen to come up with 350whp for Legacy SS cars. We've got the collective experiences of everyone on this board and I think we should be able to come up with what would have to be done to achieve what Nico claims.

Besides, I'm curious if our transmissions could even hold up to that kind of power....

So lets start. Choose a turbo... TD05-16g?
FMIC? TMIC? AAIC? AWIC?
What boost levels would be necessary, and with the selected turbo what would be the associated WOT CFM flow rate?
Based on that, what kind of flow would we need from the fuel pump - based on max. 80% injector PW? For that matter, what kind of flow ratings would we need on the injectors for this setup?
Then, what are the options for aftermarket injector control/engine management? Would we be better off with a fixed-pressure fuel system, or a rising-rate system? What fuel pressure (range) would we use?
What size downpipe, exhaust system, cat/no cat, etc would allow the turbo to work at its most efficient?

I know we have the expertise on-board to figure this out.

i have broken 5 trannys.

this order gos to the best to the ok.

1. down pipe is huge there is a pic some where of it on this board and 3'in no cats i would say 30hp

2. port&polished heads HUGE power gian and top speed, at least 20hp

3. would be intercooler thats cuz i would not be able to run 18 or 20 psi s, this would be hard to rate lets say 60hp

4. this one would be a couple of things to clean up the system big fule pump, race headers, no a/c, no power steering, no abs. air intake is stright threw with k&n, then i got no interior with black tar and carpets nothing in the trunk everything is bare all my seats are out, only a sparco red one for me, for all this i got rid of HUGE dead wieght and add more power at least 30hp

I see now, losing weight doesnt increase power, at least external from the drivetrain weight. What it does do however is increase accelleration, handling, braking, etc

losing power steering, a/c, and putting on headers does. why do you guys keep this going? let him go to a track and find out. you can argue until you are red in the face and it will prove nothing. he has obviously beaten quite fast cars (including those spraying NOS) and just needs to obtain a quarter mile elapsed time and (more importantly) a trap speed.

so your running stock injectors too NICO, just quit now before you make yourself look like an idiot, take it to a dyno and get some real world figures.......

sorry guys but even a TD05 16g will not be able to give 350whp.

rsstiboy dont you live in australia, becuse you guys didnt get the 2.2l shc motors we got in north america its a total diffrent motor. dont you got a 2.0l motor ? we got the motor that can run factory injectors and run 21psi all day long with the stock turbo.

*sigh*

I'm not trying to discount Nico's claims, damn it, I'm trying to get some intelligent conversations started on what would be realistically necessary to achieve 350whp on an North American Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan. I, for one, am very curious to find out if that is even possible without a completely different transmisson.

Anyone? Please? :?

Nico is right about the injectors, I've personally hit 22psi with no detonation on stock injectors. I'm also running with the line pulled off the wastegate for quite a while, and again no detonation.

dscoobydoo wrote: Now, working backwards, to get 200 at the wheels, you need about 250 at the crank. to do that, you would need: Intercooler, fuel mods, psi jump, larger exhaust and most likely a td05-16g.
The stock fuel and ignition system on the EJ22T is good up to about 300 chp. At 250+ chp I would consider a 255 FP and maybe a colder set of plugs. You can achieve 250 chp on the VF11 (about 15 psi) too, but that's about it. It's a ways out of it's effeincy range at that point but it can be done, trust me.
Now, being a closed deck motor, it is possible to put out 350 at the wheels, but NOT WITHOUT A STAND ALONE COMPUTER SYSTEM.

I agree with this statement or at least the stand alone engine management part.. The EJ22T's stock internals are considered to be good to about 350 chp but 350 whp is really pushing it and asking for trouble IMO.

thats stock injectors and stock turbo right? try doing 22psi and see if it doesn't blow up on a TD05H.

and NICO, we have a closed deck block as well, the block, pistons, etc... will take more than 20psi no problems, the weakest link is the head gasket at around 20psi. 0.2ltrs is not going to make 100whp difference. don't get me wrong I'd love for you to prove me wrong, but i bet you don't.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it will blow up with any decent size turbo at that pressure, the vf10 doesnt count though..lol

7500000km on my stock turbo, running 18psi daily and when i need to fly i bring it up to 20psi.

0.2ltrs will help out a bit more then just say 2.0l. but you guys got dhc motors so your revs are longer, my shc motor is all torque crazy.

i dont no lets c what i can pull at the track, also i start off in second gear you got to c how fast my take off is. i think high 12s.

you're all freakin insane! I thought my little wagon with barely 100hp was good enough <sigh> I want to keep my stock transmission thank you very much --180K and strong!

good luck with your mid 13sec pass NICO, not trying to be mean, just being realistic.

No, why does the ej22 N/A have more then 100hp? If it did i would say that 180,000 miles would drop it down a pretty good amount

The 1st gen EJ22 has 130 chp

I doubt you would lose 30 hp in 180 miles

My car seemed to start slowing at 160 and again at around 200k. Now I'd guess 0-60 on a good day to be just under 10 secs. Around 140 it would pull it in around 8 flat. Derive from this what you want.

I have a 1990 2.2 NA. With a very bad clutch and a seriously bad block with 200 k plus miles with bad rings blowing smoke all the way down the track I managed the following at the track last year.

16.75 et 80.00 mph trap.

I used the old horsepower caluculator at:

http://www.speedworldmotorplex.com/calc.htm

At 3000 lbs and 80 mph trap =
120 whp and 141 crank hp

At 3000 lbs and 16.75 et =
126 whp and 149 crank hp.

My goal is to get my old NA wagon into the high 14's using nitrous. I am trying to get it down to 2500 lbs somehow as well. Losing weight is the same as gaining hp!

Douglas, I notice in your signature you say "no preheated throttle body." .... our throttle bodys are heated? I will have to look into this and disable it if that is the case. Why the hell are they heated?
