Yeah, the guy who did the work did a pretty good job. There are some areas that I would have liked finished. He left a little putty under the tail fin and there's an area that needs rebuffed and clear coated but other than that it was a good job. I also would have liked him to actually take care of that lip in the wheel well where the molding fits on. He didn't grind the rust out in that spot.

Check it out...

Sounds like you're almost halfway there, actually! I'd finish all your engine stuff first. . . so you can actually benefit from having all the parts together. . . then work on the suspension. Good to see AGXs on the list!

thanks, notice the chunk out of my grille... stupid F150 backed into me while i was parked. I bring this up because I took the insurance check and ran. you know why? car is considered totaled in Indiana if damage adds up to 80% of the vehicles bluebook worth. I know what I have, and it isnt a lemon. they wanted to give me a check and take my baby to buy some unknown vehicle. screw you insurance company. give me the amount of the difference and I will wait til the junk yard has a nice condition used bumper and grille. great excuse to repaint the car anyway :)

I suppose since I am the one driving I should give props to my man Charlie for snapping the pic. He doesnt shoot cars but has one hell of a nature photography site if anyone is into that.

Dumped in what?

Could you tell us a bit about the spring cutting experience?

cut springs

Posted: Wed Jun 29, 2005 7:32 pm
by eph
well it's a bit bouncy when driving, but with the car being so low, corners are almost no problem for me, reason why i say almosy is because im 19 and still getting used to my car... but the cut springs are cool. Only downside is when you jack the car up do what ever and then lower the car, you gotta babysit each spring, and make sure it gets placed in it's housing correctly because they like to move when free.

so you just avoid harsh/large bumps?

Posted: Thu Jun 30, 2005 5:45 am
by scottzg
I hope that you don't go over a bump big enough to completely unload a wheel and have the spring fall out, or go around a medium speed sweeper and lift off, or damage your struts with the higher rate.

You've got dangerous stuff goin on.

i am fully aware of what i need to look for, yes i have to avoid bumps, nd yes i have to watch what im doing at high speeds... but it's only temporary until i can spend some real money on struts.... im looking at getting some TEIN hopefully.
