I think that happened here: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... =awic+fmic

I think the reason the AWIC flows so well is because the air isn't flowing inside the core. It's flowing around the core. The water is flowing inside the core. I really do think that if someone were to cut the feed pipe real close to the top of the IC it would flow much better than it does now.

I think it would flow better but is it worth it? What I get from my time on the RSLiberty board is that it runs out of heat scrubing not flow. Now they all seem to just go FMIC at that point so maybe with a better pump and heat exchanger it would be worthwhile.

I know I'm not at the point that the AWIC is holding me back and don't think I'll get there without an aftermarket ECU.

Yeah from the way it sounds.....the guys with larger turbos are just generating more heat, and the stock AWIC isn't sized to handle that kind of heat absorbtion. The solution, put a bigger radiator in.

A bigger pump may/may not help, depending on what's in there now. There's a certain point where if you go too fast, the water is not doing the maximum amount of cooling it could be.
