Will STi injectors work?

Heads, valves, pistons, rods, crankshaft, etc...

Thinking back I have to revise my previous post. I didn't know the condition of the NA engine but both my '93 turbo engines had/have a run-lean condition in cylinder #4.

Anyway, Lucas fuel system/injector cleaner had been run on every fill up for about 2 months (I fill up twice a week). I use only Chevron 91 octane. But the injectors have not been sent in to get professionally cleaned.

I suppose another way of testing would be to switch fuel injectors from cylinder 4 to another cylinder and see what happens. Although others on the Board have had similar issues with cylinder 4 running lean.

It could be a design of the fuel system(rails, lines, fittings) that cause some form of restriction, but I would switch the injector to another cylinder, that is a proven method for testing parts.
Kickin' it old-school.

I wouldn't recommend running something different in that one injector. The difference under normal driving is probably not great enough to cause a lean condition. The lean condition probably only occurs under high boost.

Tuning something like that would be a nightmare.
