What's wrong with Hyundai? They've made some HUGE steps to make themselves on par with the Japanese. They are now reliable vehicles.

They do have a fault in the American market: bad gas mileage...

But they're not at their level yet. They sell on the warranty. The cheap ones are death traps - check out the engine compartments. If you want Austin-Healey Sprite safety, you might as well buy that and get the happy waves from people. There are the nasty interiors and chassis that rattle after 10ks of miles, too. The more expensive ones are actually not that cheap anymore. Even their advertised prices are too high - not that far from the Japanese. They are definitely getting better, though, I won't argue with that.
